3.0 out of 5 stars Good for pure electronica, but little else, December 3, 2000

If you're into creating some hardcore ambient/electronica a la Kraftwerk's "Om" period or Autechre, this CD will help, but is not the end of the line. Simply put, there isn't very much on this CD compared to other Acid loop collections. There's about 12 folders, averaging between 6-16 loops, beeps, drones and sounds each, most of which you'll likely NEVER use.

For Drum-n-bass/house/hip-hop composers, this one's kind of a wash; there isn't much here to use, even if you're being WAY left field. I bought it expecting more chord-like drones (it has some "Cloud chord" samples that are nice, which are great for chunking bassliens and melodies in your DnBass stuff, but nothing else like it on the whole disc to compare, so after you use it a couple of times you'll have to finds another sound for fear of all your work sounding the same), but the CD simply didn't have much bang for the buck.

And while Acid loops don't cost nearly as much as a lot of sample CDs on the market, you should expect more from such a disc. More variety, more core sounds to manipulate, more loops.

4.0 out of 5 stars not a lot of loops but some good beds for soundtracks, December 30, 2008

A lot of textured sound beds that would work for good for soundtracks to short movies. Especially sci-fi or horror, suspense. Suppose they might could be used in some esoteric electronica stuff as well. Not a lot of loops but the sounds beds are relatively lengthy.
