Not a text book, not a coffee table book,
By
This review is from: Sonic Graphic Seeing Sound (Paperback)
I just got this book and read the whole thing in the course of 2-3 hours. It's somewhere between a text book (due to it's size and general unappealing layout) and a coffee table book (because of the picture to text ratio). The book is not bad over all though, the introduction by far is the highlight as it points you in the direction for continued research. Some big names covered in the book include Pentagram, Sagmeitser, Brian Eno, Emigre. But you wont find more than 2 sentence and a couple images for each. All in all not a bad place to start if your interested in the subject, but save your self the money and look up some of the names I just mentioned and buy their books instead. |
