A note about the late issue versions,

This review is from: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Video Game)
If you are collecting Genesis games, which is likely the reason you would buy this, note there are two versions of this product. The original release has the classic clam shell hard case and was made in Japan by Sega. The "Mega Hit Series" version, as shown in the picture, was manufactured by Majesco, who handled the Genesis line in the last days of the 16-bit generation. The Majesco cartridges were made in Mexico, and they have very poor quality packaging and printing. The box style is the cardboard type that later Genesis games came in (even from Sega), but the print quality is inferior; both the box and the cartridge label are very low grade prints, and the manual is in black and white, as opposed to the Sega issued version which has a color cover and is of much better quality. Also, the plastic the cartridge is made out of is a different formula, and is not as nice as the ones made in Japan. Just something to keep in mind if you are collecting...

A fun game to play,
By The Gamer Man "Gamer Dude" (Hollywood,CA) - See all my reviews
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I've owned a Genesis for over 10 years now and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is still a lot of fun to play. Fast and furious. This is not the better then the previous installments, idea wise. However, the gameplay in part 3 has been much improved. Jumping, spinning, power-ups, that thing Sonic does when you make him jump and you press the jump button again, and last but definetly not least Super Sonic that's where the fun begins. The graphics were a noticable improvement, Sonic and Tails never looked so good. The music is well...the usual "Sonic the Hedgehog" tunes. Despite the lack of ideas "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" is still an incredibly fun game to play, even by todays standards. Definetly worth your hard earned money.

my third favorite sonic game!!!,
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I have all the sonic games and i love them all equally but what i like about this is theres a save option and tails can finally fly even carrying sonic!!! but theres a little suprise to find if you have sonic & knuckles: hook up sonic 3 to the top of sonic & knuckles and play all the way through you'll find out what the suprise is!!! ive already found it out. this game is awesome and is worth spending 6 to 19 bucks on. IF YOU HAVE A GENESIS GET THIS GAME AND GET SONIC 1 2 and SONIC & KNUCKLEs!!!
