5.0 out of 5 stars Has the Juice!
very enjoyable episodes that showcase Sonic's obnoxious cockiness
and attitude just perfectly, giving him a personality. What is surprising is how Jaleel White (of "Family Matters" fame) used essentially the same voice he that he did as Steve Urkel for Sonic but still managed to create a noticable distinction. This, ladies and gentlemen, is brilliance.

1.0 out of 5 stars I WANT BETTER!!
This movie dissapointed me very much. I know some people who have seen this series would disagree, but come on the storys the same all the time. Robotnik is always trying to get Sonic but he gets away. BORING! I mean wheres Tails and knuckles and all those guys? At least the new series Sonic X has them, and the plot's different everytime to. I think Sonic has gotten much...

5.0 out of 5 stars Coolest cartoon ever!, January 20, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Sonic the Hedgehog - Sonic Racer [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Sonic the Hedgehog is an awesome cartoon show! I believed that this cartoon is _way_ better than those stupid Sonic games for Sega! Too bad Knuckles (my fave) wasn't in this. But Sally and Bunnie are my favorites in this show!

I liked every episode of this series. the comics rule, too! It's much too bad nobody seems to like this show anymore because of Sonic Adventure. Even Sonic Underground is okay, I only watch it to see Knuckles!

But out of all Sonic cartoons, this one of the coolest on earth!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sonic Racer, January 25, 2006
A Kid's Review
Just doesn't get any better than this! First, in Sonic Racer, Sonic, Sally, and Bunnie are on a mission to destroy the Robotropolis generator. On the way back to Knothole, they remember that the backup was also supposed to be destroyed. Meanwhile, Robotnik and Snively announce a speed contest and Sonic enters. Sonic races against a robot that is built and designed to be twice as fast as him. Meanwhile, Sally, Bunnie, and Antoine show up to destroy the backup generator. But when they're in trouble, Sonic must abandon the race to help them. Then, in Sonic Boom, Sally recieves a message from her father and takes Antoine out with her and they find where the message was sent from: IronLock Prison. Meanwhile, Sonic manages to meet up with them and they navigate the tunnels and reprogram the Stealthbots and make a quick getaway. Sonic Racer's plot seems a bit cliche'd, but it's still good. Also, we do not know the fate of Freedom Fighter Cat in Sonic Boom. But other than that, this video's great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Old Sonic, Good Quality, March 12, 2003
This review is from: Sonic the Hedgehog - Sonic Racer [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Sure the shows are old and you never see them anymore, but this was the beginning. Based on the comics, it shows how the Freedom Fighters and Robotnik clashed. Anyway, this video has two episodes. First, the freedom fighters take out Robotnik's main generator only to find he has a back-up one also. So Robotnik creates a speedy machine and challenges Sonic to a race. On the second, the freedom fighters break in once more, but Sally finds a message from her father he left for her. Watch the video to find out what happens.

5.0 out of 5 stars This beats the living s**t out of Sonic X, November 23, 2007
I've been a long time fan since I was five. I'm 14 years of age now and I've seen every sonic series. This one is far more supieror than any of the other Sonic animated series. Especially Sonic X. Sonic X was nothing more than a disapointment to me; where are the freedom fighters? And where did the rest of the Chaotix go? And the plot is consitantly childish which I never did like about Sonic but this one is dark and mature. And the artwork is far more superior (Remember I'm refuring to just the background work, not the character work) than the artwork of Sonic X, they've spent no expense in making this episodes. If the Power Rangers went out of style before SATAM did then we would still be able to see the finishing episodes of SATAM. Only two episodes of the third Season was spared from the cancelation of the series. As for the character artwork, they were aiming for a younger generation but had it been trying to catch the attention of teenagers the character design would be just as or even better than that of the movie. Sonic X just doesn't have that kind of talent or even that kind of motive for that matter. I hope that the SATAM series is ressurected one day, and they start it again from scratch with a more complex plot and better character artwork. The movie was simply flawless, SATAM fell from grace only due to the character design. It would be a good day if they did bring it all back and made him look like Sonic the Hedgehog from the comic series and I'm reffuring to the art work of Ron Lim as Penciler and Nelson Ribeitro as inker. Not the art work of Tracey Yardley and the inkings of Jim Amash mind you. They're the entire reason I stoped buying the comic books. Horrible artwork = no sell

Ok. If you watch the whole Sonic X thing, and play the Adventure and Heros games, then you probably don't know who Sally, Bunny, Rotor and Antoine are, but they were the original characters. This is the comic turned tv series. It was the definative sonic when i was 7-9. If you're new to the whole thing you may not appreciate it, but if you are an old fan, and you don't own a copy, then you gotta get one, DIC may just be convinced to release the entire two seasons with enough sales, and the fact that they can't be found anywhere is a good sign. SAVE SATAM!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not to be confused with the 'other' Sonic of the same name., May 22, 2001
This review is from: Sonic the Hedgehog - Sonic Racer [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This series is actually an anime that was brought over and released domestically (Yes, like Pokemon before Pokemon). The series actually bombed in Japan, although I don't see why. The story's base is fairly simple: set in a post-apocalyptic (apocalypse courtesy of Dr. Robotnik of course) world with a large mix of anthropomorphic characters ranging from hedgehogs to dragons, the series begins with typical episodes, and over time reveals bits and pieces of what has happened over the course of the character's lives as they grew up in exile, as well as going through some very interesting story arc's. The character development is very deep, fears are revealed and conquered, friendships are formed and tested, and rivalries arise and are put aside. The animation is what one would expect of an anime, as opposed to the domestic 'cartoon' (Yes, there are exceptions to that rule, I know) and the voice acting is surprisingly good. While the T.V. series ended just when it was about to kick up into another gear with the implied introduction of Metal Sonic in the last episode, the comic, which has the same writer, is at this time about to reach its 100th issue. All in all, a great series which earned both my respect and admiration. If you have a chance to lay your hands on this, don't hesitate.
