This is really an awesome product. I work mostly in the operating room, where iPODs or other MP3 players are as common as scalpels. I have tried several portable speaker models for the iPOD, and I this the best. Not only is it fairly compact system, but it is self contained. It has a compartment to store and protect the iPOD. The rechargeable battery will play for at least 5 hours of continuous play on a single charge (I have not yet tested the maximum amount). The remote is very basic, but it is also very compact, and will work well at a distance of 10+ feet. The system also has a compartment for the remote. The sound is very clean, and without appreciable distortion at high volumes.

I bought this unit after reading the reviews here. I really like it. It is great for plugging in your ipod at work or on a trip. My first one broke, so I returned it. The new one works fine. I followed the link left on the comments section regarding the fact that no generation 2 nano adapter was included. The company sent me one in the mail for free. For the money ($109 on Amazon), I could not find a better unit. The Bose is too expensive and the logitech did not sound as good. The altec lansing slim speaker unit also did not sound as well. This unit has a remote, charges the ipod, and has a rechargeable battery to allow day trips to the beach. I recommend it barring the bad unit I got initially.

I'll admit, that when I first saw this device I was skeptical. It looked like another big piece of consumer electronic junk that I had to lug around with me. However I quickly changed my mind.
The sonic impact is relatively small making it easy to pack in a suitcase or backpack. Its batteries last for 5 hours so you can take it on a weekend trip somewhere without the charger. It holds the Ipod nicely inside, and it has a somewhat ruggidized exterior... you don't have to treat the sonic impact like you treat your ipod.

However the biggest surprise was the sound quality. Normally from battery operated units this small sound quality is complete crap. Not this one though. Its better then most clock/cd radios and certainly better then most portable audio gadgets. The treble is good and clear, however it is no replacement for a real stereo. The bass is miniscule and if you turn the volume up past quiet-room-listening you can hear clipping. Its best place is bringing it with you for your hotel room, camp trip, friends house, or car ride. If you play it in anything larger then a living room, don't expect the sound to carry.

My main complaint is that it isn't more durable. I would be a bit afraid of bringing this to the beach for fear of getting sand in it. I also wouldn't want to get it wet. Also, the ipod rests in the center of the unit. Even though this is stylish it seems a bit precarious.

Overall I have yet to see a better portable ipod player then the Sonic Impact. If you're looking for an easy portable stereo with half-decent sound, then this can't be beat.

This is one of the best purchases I have made from Amazon. It makes it so easy to share my music at the nurses station at work and makes my ipod so portable without having to use the earphones. It is also great for watching my ipod movies on long trips instead of riding in the back seat to watch the DVD player. The sound quality is great and I get so many comments on it and people asking where I got it. Definitely a 5 star item!

Considering its small size, this unit puts out some pretty good sound included a good level of bass. Although its not meant to lead an outdoor party, it is great for a small gathering, out at the beach, or in the backyard while you work in the garden. I love that it can easily store my iPod as well, making it a nice single unit to carry around (assuming its been charged!). After charging, I've never had it die on me and I've been outside for a few hours with music playing the whole time. The rugged case is also great. It feels very sturdy and the case wont likely ever become scratched or damaged because of its tough exterior material. All in all, a good buy considering the quality of the build AND ESPECIALLY the awesome sound.

I researched speakers for an iPod exhaustively. I am pleased that I purchased this one. The sound is high quality and powerful with little distortion in the bass at high volumes. I love the rechargable battery feature. Just plug it in to charge and off you go. It even acts as a charger for the iPod! I love the compartments for the iPod and earbuds.

My only con about this product is that I never could get my iPod nano to fit in the adapter. I use it without it and it works fine.

I received this as a gift. It was purchased this through Amazon by way of Electronica Direct. Out of the box it was great. Plugged it in, fully charged, it lasted me over a week. When I tried to recharge it, nothing. It won't even play my ipod while plugged in.

Now after 1 week waiting to be opened for my birthday and one week of use, I am haveing trouble just getting it exchanged. Electronica Direct said they don't help after 15days, Amazon told me to contact them.

I am still waiting to hear from Sonic Impact.

After reading several reviews on portable speakers, I decided to purchase the Sonic Impact i-F2 for my iPod. It has great sound quality, the case is durable, it packs away easily and you can take it anywhere. You can listen to music while its charging and the sounds system is quite attractive. This is by far the best accessory I've purchased for my iPod. Did I mention that it has a remote control!!!

These are great speakers. They sound good and are very portable and durable. My only complaint is that there is no place inside the unit to store / carry the charger. But I can live with that; just charge it up the night before, and you are good to go.

We (Bobby & me) bought this product to use in the weight room at school where there has never been electricity for the past 34 years. It sounded so great with the new Ipod Nano, that it attracted a crowd. Great sound coming out of the weight room. Where is the old crappy boom box? What do you mean, there's no electricity? Now we have electricity, which we don't really need. It sounds so good, that even the grumpy people don't listen to AM radio anymore. The power did come in handy to charge up the battery. It just stopped working one day when the batteries were low. Boom, no sound....

It would have received 5 stars if the surface didn't scratch so easy. It loses that new car shine rather quickly. It seems to enjoy playing "swamp thing" the bestest.

The new Nano didn't fit (great sadness), but Sonic Impact sent a new 2nd generation Nano adapter, which arrived in two days (no sadness, no cost...).
