In this video game, Sonic and his buddy Tails find out there is going to be a race where they can win the Chaos emeralds. At first, Sonic is not interested in participating, but when he finds out his rival, Dr. Eggman, is participating, he speeds off faster than you can say SEGA!

The 4 main characters:
Sonic
Tails
Knuckles
Amy

Unlockable characters:
To unlock these characters, collect all 5 Sonic tokens and place 3rd or higher in the following zone, then beat the character in a race and it will join your side.
Metal Sonic-Paradise Island
Puppet Tails-Radical City
Egg Robo-Regal Ruin
Metal Knuckles-Reactive factory

To unlock Dr. Eggman, place first in all 5 courses.

To unlock Super Sonic, get all 7 Chaos emeralds in the game. Please note: you will not get to keep an emerald unless you place 1st.

My little brother and I enjoy the multiplayer battles, whether it's racing or popping balloons. When friends come over, they enjoy the multiplayer battles as well. My little brother enjoys rushing at light speed as Super Sonic, and I enjoy tearing up the streets as Puppet Tails (hopefully without tearing myself).

Overall, I certainly am glad that this is one of the action games on Sonic Gems Collection, and I am also wondering if Sega will make a Sonic Gems collection 2. If so, I hope to play these games:
Knuckles Chaotix (Sega 32X)
Sonic's Neogeo Pocket adventure (Neogeo Color)
Sonic Police Car (Arcade)
Sonic the Hedgehog (Arcade)
Sonic 3D blast (Sega Saturn)

Virtua Hamster (Unlockable, Unrelated but was on the Sega 32X)

Please note: The arcade Sonic game will need a special trackball controller. Maybe Nintendo will invent one and include it with the game.

Sonic R is one of sega's first atempts to make a 3D game. The only thing you might not like is the lyrics for the songs, especially the radiant emerald track song. It's like a stupid love song.Once you get super sonic and race on that track, the song changes to "Super Sonic Racing". Its the same song as when you go to the title screen, only the full thing.Overall it's a great game.
