The fan-favorite Sonic Riders series returns with a whole new form of chaotic racing by manipulating gravity itself! These gravity-altering powers can transform walls into tracks, or create a black hole that sucks you through for the ultimate speed boost, and allows for an entirely new way to gain a leg up on your competitors. From illuminated highways in a bustling metropolis to the outer reaches of space, you will race at the speed of light on 16 dynamic courses. Vehicles with over 40 upgrades allow you to grind rails and pull off daring tricks on futuristic tracks, including solar loop-de-loops, height-defying vertical drops and tons of other edge-of-your-seat moves. As Sonic or one of 18 colorful characters, you will compete with up to three friends at heart-stopping speeds in three exciting multiplayer modes. With all the action, speed, and addictive gameplay that only Sonic can deliver, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity is set for hyper-drive!

5.0 out of 5 stars How awesome is this!, January 22, 2008
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity (Video Game)
I've seen so many negative reviews for this game, and I can't understand why. It is very addicting. I lost track of time playing this game.

Gameplay. Whether you are playing an easy or difficult track, it is just so much fun because there are different shortcuts throughout the tracks depending on what type of character you are (these shortcuts will not be available to other types). Trying to master the gravity commands are also fun, because I've just never seen that in a game before.

I found the controls to be very smooth and reflexive, I'm not sure why others are having problems in this area. Maybe I have a natural gift for it (probably gained this skill after playing Sonic Heroes..."No Sonic! I told you to follow the ring path, not jump off the cliff!!" -_-;;) BTW, I have not played many racing games, but controls seem great to me!

I would also like to applaud the music. It is astounding! The theme songs are great and the track themes are invigorating.

Graphics are also wonderful, CG movies included. I couldn't help but notice how Knuckles' face looks different, but I'm talking a good different! It has this certain personality that looks great on him. Maybe he's had this same look before, but I have not played many of the recent generations of Sonic games.

Storywise, it's a refreshing turn away from the chaos emeralds (thank god). Maybe that was another attention keeper for me. I would much rather learn more about the new gravity integration.

A personal joy for myself is the inclusion of Silver the Hedgehog! He's one of my favorites, I can't wait to play as him.

Now to be fair, I should probably add the (few) complaints I have had thus far with this game. If you choose a big character, like the albatross (forgive me I forgot his name), they block vision, meaning most of the time it's hard to see where you're going. Now I've only played up to the second track of Babylon, which forces you to play as him, and that was where I had the most difficulties so far. Yes, maybe the vision is only bad on that one track, I can't say for sure. Another came as a surprise, the free-racing track where you and a friend or few race on the track...the characters controlled by the computer ALWAYS left us in the dust! WTH? But that was when my friend and I were new at the game, maybe we'll pwn it this time around...

In the end, I highly recommend!

4.0 out of 5 stars So far, so good. Sonic may be on the road to a come back., January 19, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity (Video Game)
I have been a fan of Sonic for a long time, at least up until sonic Adventure 2 anyways. For a while sega seemed to ditch out some sour sonic titles, heroes(BAD), shadow(Not too bad), sonic for ps3(which seems to be the worst). I had rented Sonic Riders 1 a couple of weeks ago, and was actually pulled into it, it was a little frustrating and only had a small amount of tracks, but it was fun since it showed the sonic world in a different view. I heard Sonic Riders 2 was coming out and ordered it immediately.
I have been playing it non stop for a few days now, and I will say its one cool game, cool graphics, nice music and good game play.
No its not the most amazing race game(If you are looking for a deep racing experience, its not happening here.) or sonic game ever, sometimes when you crash things can go haywire fast and you go from 1st to 8th in a second and it takes a little getting used to the controls, you have to practice a bit, but it is different and worth a shot.
It has loads of characters(even some extra Sega Favs from past games)
There are tons of different gears/models(60) to buy to match your racing ability and 16 tracks and extra missions for each stage.
Also it has multiplayer games(though I have not tried these yet.)
Cool game and I hope it helps sega bring Sonic back to his throne.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the affects, January 1, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity (Video Game)
Okay so I am almost 40 and kinda new to the game world. I thought this game would be neat to start out with. I like it although I am learning the tricks and secrets to become gamer saavy. I like the affects and the bells and whistles in the game. I also like racing games so this is right up my alley. I do not like the shoot em shred em gory games. This is an anyone game. I wish I could say more, but like I said I am new. I recommend this game to anyone.
