Make Your Own For a Fraction of the Cost,
This review is from: The Sonic Seal for E-Series Sonicare Replacement Heads, 3 Count (Blue, Pink, Frost) (Health and Beauty)
These undoubtedly work, but they are expensive, so I tried making my own, as follows. (1) Take a latex glove and cut off one of the fingers. (2) Cut off a very tiny section at the end of the detached fingertip (the resulting small hole will stretch temporarily in the next step). (3) Slip the glove finger down over the brush head, leaving the tip end above the top gasket of the brush head, and pulling the rest of the latex down to where the brush head joins the handle. Voila, no more slime build-up. (Keep the glove on hand in case you have to make more protectors later on.)
It's absurd that a special product should be needed to correct what's obviously a design flaw in the Sonicare Essence line. Sonicare should be providing the fix!

They Work but Rip,

These things work. After getting gross black mold in my Sonicare for years, I finally found a solution. Incidentally, Philips Customer Care gave me the run-around and kept telling me that the mold was due to varying humidity in various homes. Does not make sense considering I live with my wife :) and hers does not have mold. They wanted me to take off and dry my brush head every day. What a hassle! Anyway, the Sonic Seal works but, like many of the reviews have said, it is very hard to get one and THEY WILL RIP IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL PUTTING THEM ON. For this price, ripping is a bad situation.

Great compliment to any Sonicare toothbrush. I am the only one using the handle on it, so changing heads only occurs when needed. Keeps water & saliva & toothpaste out of the head, yet doesn't change the effecitveness of the sonic action.
1) out of the package feels a little bit sticky (like most silicone) so I held the cover over a bottle of cornstarch powder and squeezed (let the little puff of power land on the inside of the cover but did not sprinkle any powder on it). Cover slipped down the neck just fine, no tearing, and was in place in less than 20 seconds. 2) needed a little bit of stretching to get the ring in place, but again, no problems and now snugly in place. 3) make sure your brush is completely dry both inside & out for the obvious reasons you don't want to trap gunk under the seal. Suggestion to makers: offer a package of all clear. I'm not a fan of either the pink or the blue.
