The Sonicview 360 Elite is an excellent free-to-air satellite receiver--one of the best, in my opinion--but beware! Never, never, NEVER update the software on the unit! I made that mistake and experienced much grief as a result; recent versions of the software have deliberately included a time-triggered error message that causes the unit to freeze up. When that happens one can only change channels by a hard reboot and quickly entering the new channel one wants to view before it freezes up again. To add insult to injury, when the error message comes on the screen it covers part of the picture and won't go away.

Sonicview did not respond when I sent them an email requesting assistance in resolving the problem, and it took much searching online to find a solution. I finally found a website that had an older version of the software. Since installing that older version, I have had no further problems so far (knock on wood!!!). If it were not for this problem, I would have rated this unit with 5 stars, but with Sonicview's lack of customer support, the difficulty I had in finding a solution, and the uncertainty I have as to whether the solution is permanent, I can only rate it with two stars, and even that may be too generous.

It is good, but for my use I should have gotten a cheaper one or one that has an HDMI option. Over all easy set up, good picture, good over all.

excellent product!!! 100 % recommended. It is very rapid for initiating and it takes many useful options an as as search for name of channels, software updates, it overcomes my espectations.

Works great, no issues for 3 month, I love it, and I love the recording feature, so easy to set it up, duel toner, cannot beat the price.

I bought the Sonicview 360 Elite for my wife to record some free satellite channels. Unfortunately it has been a total failure and an exercise in frustration. The main reason for this is that this unit is unable to maintain a clock on a "manual" setting for the duration of even a couple of days. A $3 watch can do this, but not this unit. Since it constantly looses track of time, it consistently fails to record shows that are scheduled. Out of numerous calls and emails to Sonicview tech support, there was almost no response. They are unable or unwilling to solve this problem. A terrible product and non-existing customer support.

I agree with everything that was said about this receiver with the exception of the support. The support is mediocre. It was a toss up between this and the Viewsat. In retrospect I wish I would have bought the Viewsat because their support appears spot on. Otherwise, it's been sweet!
