Seems to be very accurate and easy to use. I use it indoors and outdoors to measure commercial real estate. However, it promises 250 feet but I seldom get 140-165 feet. Also, it does not have auto shutoff for the target unit, so if you forget to turn it off before storing be prepared to replace battey often. Seems to be the best out there for the price.

This tool is a great innovation! Talk about ease of measuring. This tool allows for quick and highly accurate measurments to be taken from anywhere, in any situation. No more dragging long tapes around, trying to get them tight, around furniture, up ladders----forget it all with this great tool. I also now use this in law enforcement for measuring all my crime scenes. No more dragging the tape through blood or across sensitive crime scenes.

This tool ROCKS!!!! If you do a lot of measuring than don't let this great help pass you by.

I MEASURE FOR FLOORING FOR SEVERAL COMPANYS I RECIEVED THIS A COUPLE DAYS AGO AND FIND IT ACCURATE BUT AS FAR A ONE PERSON USAGE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN YOU NEED SOMETHING TO SET TARGET ON SINCE IT DOESNT COME WITH A HANGER OR OTHER MEANS TO KEEP IT IN PLACE.

I bought this for a Realtor also, and LOVES it!! Certianly a ++ over walking tape all over the place.
This measurer is easy to use, just a few buttons do all the business. Even came with "cheater" stickers to place on the units, so you don't have to bust out the instructions. Certainly not precision accuracy to do carpentry work, but within 1-2" usually which is enough to estimate room sizes, yard lines, or do sq.ft. measurements for paint, drywall, etc. projects around the house. The remote is easy to target, and gives a fast flashing green light when you hit it. Don't need the target inside of 60', but we found using it incresed the accuracy. The only way to improve this is if it had a laser sight. (Again, don't really need it, but wouldn't that be *cool* ??)
We had to calibrate the unit for high altitude, but the instructions are surprisingly easy & no trouble at all!
All in all, well worth the $$$$.!!

I purchased this for a friend who is a Realtor. It couldn't be more simple to measure a room and is very accurate. The unit is simple to use, you get the measure of a distance by simply pressing a single button. It allows you to get the square dimensions of a room by automatically multiplying the width and length of a room! My friend was very pleased with the gift and with the entire unit. Accurate!!!

Though a good product, its accuracy varies dramatically when taken out from an airconditioned indoor room or car to out doors.

It varies from 1Ft to 3Ft for a distance of 200ft. This makes this product pretty useless.

I purchased this for my husband... He stated it makes his work much easier... He carries it with him daily.

I draw floor plans for real estate agents, and this is an excellent tool for indooor use. Agreed (with a previous reviewer), outdoor measurements can be slightly off depending on weather, but that's not a problem for me. The receiver gaurantees you are measuring the true distance, unlike a single unit where you may be picking up kitchen cupboards or lamps for example. The receiver does not power off automatically, so it can run the battery down when it is not in use. The sending device shuts off automatically. Working alone, I often have to be creative as to where the receiving device is placed, and it is delicate, so dropping it is expensive. All-in-all, this is a pretty good device for the money.

Use it constantly for landscape construction layouts. Very easy to use and very accurate. Best with two people if you have lots of distances to measure, but the main unit works very well by itself if you have a smooth reflecting surface to bounce off. Doesn't use light so bright sunlight isn't a problem.

This is a very good tool, excellent for a fast approach of measures.
