I bought this to use in a house that is showing water damage. It accurately showed how far the leak spread into the ceiling that wasn't showing damage. It also confirmed a toilet leak into the ceiling below by only showing wet when the toilet was flushed. It saved me from worrying it was the shower stall. The prongs are holding up nicely and I like how it is designed so I can squeeze the probs into areas only my hand can fit. I recommend this for the weekend do-it-yourselfer.

This is a low cost, easy to use moisture tester. Great device that helps you see how much moisture is present in your walls. You can then decide to proceed further. The water alarm is a great bonus that can save you from water damage.

I recently purchased a foreclosed home that had water damage in various locations and plumbing issues.

This device is sensitive enough that squeezing the probe with your fingers will detect some levels of moisture.

I've used this device to see how far a leak has spread along baseboard and to help pinpoint leaks and to see if the leaks are fresh or not. I checked some subflooring in an upstairs bathroom that was suspect because I was worried there might be leaks between the walls and this helped me determine where the leak came from.

I've also used this near windowsills to see if a slight amount of water was leaking in or not.

Also, there was some staining on a wall and I used this to determine if it was a surface stain or a leaking-water stain and thankfully, it was a surface stain from awhile ago.

The peace of mind that this has given me has paid for itself many times over. This is a great-priced tool and has a multitude of uses. This is a must have for anyone venturing into a foreclosed home or handy to have around an older house.
