The Sonnet Encore/ST G4 processor upgrade card can accelerate the performance of your Power Mac G4 with significant speed gains over your original processor! With an Encore/ST G4 installed, your system will fully exploit today’s industry-leading applications, and will easily handle OS X’s increased processing demands. Designed with the maximum cache supported by the processor, the Encore/ST G4 delivers the ultimate in processing power to your compatible computer for a small fraction of the price of a new system.

No drivers needed, no updates to receive, the Encore/ST G4 is compatible with your existing hardware, software, RAM, and peripherals. The Encore/ST G4 is 100% OS X compatible, and supports from Mac OS 9.2 through OS X Version 10.3 (Panther). OS 9.2 may be required to perform Apple firmware updates.

The Encore/ST supports hard disk and display sleep in all compatible PowerMac G4 computers. In some configurations, deep sleep may not be supported.

Installation is straightforward. All Encore products auto-configure to their host system without the need for switches or jumpers -- just swap processor cards and you’re ready to go. No jumpers, no switches, no chaos in your workspace -- it doesn’t get much simpler.

Sonnet has done an awesome job on this upgrade card. Everything is superfast. My machine now kicks pentium butt! So if your looking for an economical way to upgrade your G4 computer. Go with this one. Especially since the Dual G4 upgrades aren't quite in the price range of most people! My G4 now gets almost 8 gigaflops in the graphics department under Open GL and Altivec Basic Tests. That is 8 billion floating point calculations per second. Wow! Say hello to obselesence Pentium boys!

Significant speed increase, but in evaluating whether the investment is worth it you have to pay attention to whether your bus speed and especially your graphics card will actually let you run the games you think you can based on CPU speed alone. Truly plug and play like almost all Sonnet products.

No support ... in fact are they a real company? My calls end up running around the voice system. Weird, don't really trust them.
If you know anything about reading reviews, watch for the negative ones and judge from there.
Sonnet sucks!
