Excellent Second Video Card for a Mac,

This product does exactly what it promises: it lets you use an old monitor as a second display so that you can increase your Mac's desktop space at minimal expense. I have been shopping for a second video card for several months, but most of the cards on the market are aimed at gamers -- high performance and expensive, and worse, usually requiring an AGP slot. The Sonata fits into a spare PCI slot and works just fine. Performance is perfectly acceptable on my Mac G5 1.8GHz -- when I move windows from one monitor to another there is no slowdown in the display update (a problem with another, older PCI card I had tried), even at millions of colors and 1024x768. I used an old 17" VGA monitor, but the card also has a connector for the (now ancient) Mac monitors (I did not test it, however).
