This unit is advertised as auto hole advance. It only does it on an average of 2 holes per round of golf, no pattern to it, just at random. Distances ore off when compared to yardage markers and other brands of Golf GPS units ( Sky Caddy, Golf Buddy, etc.). Customer service replies are only after multiple requests and their final response was to send it to them and they would fix it or replace it. Not satisfied with unit at all.

Sonocaddie is a good device but it's not what The picture shows. There is no fairway detail, which I wanted. If you don't need this than it is a good buy.

After an extensive online search for a golf GPS I decided on the sonocaddie auto. The unit arrived in an extremely timely manner and was as advertised. I was anxious to review the list of preloaded courses and was pleasantly supprised to find the courses I have played in the past were indeed already loaded with the exception of one. The download process for the one missing course was simple and the instructions were easy to follow, course loaded. I also checked the availability of courses I have played out of my local area and they were also preloaded.
Unfortunately I have only had the chance to play one round of golf since I received my unit. Once at the course I turned on the unit while changing shoes in the parking lot and by the time I arrived at the first tee the unit was able to identify the course and hole. The auto feature seemed to be able to track which hole I was playing with little difficulty. The course I was playing has a gps unit mounted on each of their carts so I was able to cross check the yardage and found it to be right on 99% of the time. The rare occasion when the yardages differed the discrepancy was only by a yard or two at the most. For a high handicapper like myself that's pretty darn close. When I registered my unit with Sonocaddie I opted for just the basic plan. I do plan on upgrading my membership to take advantage of the scorecard feature. I am pleased with my purchase and find dealing with Amazon to be a positive experience. For the casual golfer who only needs to know how far to the hole this unit is what the doctor ordered. I would recommed this to the budget minded golfer out there.

Have used this on many different courses and found it to be very accurate. Every once and awhile it has to advanced manually from one hole to another. Usually can get 2 1/2 to 3 rounds on one charge. Overall very pleased with this GPS.

I was very disapointed in this product. It didn't work properly most of the time, the numbers were to small to see form more than two feet away. The lay out on the various targets were hard to figure out. All in all I was not happy, and since it didn't work properly I returned the product but, I will say the the return after I finally found the proper site was quite simple.

The sonocaddie is a good product for the price.
most of the time the yardages are right on. I only have had a problem where the yardages were way off, and I didn't use the gps because the yardages were off that mutch. It also has a tendency not to auto advance, and you have to adavance manually

The auto-hole function which automatically advances to the next hole doesn't work for me. The auto advance happens when you enter the tee box. I play the white tees. They have most of the tee boxes on my course mapped for the blue or black tees so my unit doesn't advance on most of the holes. I have to manually advance it which defeats the purpose for which I bought it.
