This book touched my life unlike any other book ever. At first I found myself weeping for myself and hurts and wounds I didn't even know were buried deep down inside me, then I found myself weeping for my father, then his father. Sins that enslaved me & that I'd struggled mightily with for over 30 years have fallen away! I most highly commend this book to all men (and women), especially those hurting or struggling titantically. This book has powerfully impacted the lives of many men in jail.

If you are one of those big,burly guys that doesn't want anyone to see you cry I suggest you take this book and read it privately,because if you suffer from any of the issues covered in the book,and 98% of men do,you will cry like a baby as the Holy Spirit works through this book and reveals your past hurts to you.This book is a must for ALL MEN ! Everyone has a father, whether he was there or not and Pastor Dalbey eloquently teaches you how your relationship with your earthly father relates to your relationship with your heavenly Father and with women in your life,and with YOUR SON ! Break the generational curse and be there for your son,your wife,and your God! This book will put you on the path to total healing.

The book in and of itself did nothing to fill my "father-longing". But the words I worked through were truth - and rang true in my heart.

As I read them, bringing my own hurts and longings to the table, I had opportunity to address long-time issues. Several chapters evoked tears as I related to some story or scripture reference.

I recommend this to any man that "longs for his father"... any man desiring to be accepted as a man among men.

I plan to read it again - with a higlighter in hand.

This is such a profound book. Our society needs a wakeup to the importance of the Father in a family. But if you are like me you may be trying to Father yourself with a flawed image and experience of your earthly father. Gordon masterfully unravels the emotional confusion of many a mans relationship with their earthly Father. You will need courage to walk out the wisdom and understanding you will receive from this book. I recommend this book to every man I know trying to come to terms with his upbringing.
