A Marine Corps lawyer is assigned to prosecute his first death penalty case, involving the gang-shootings of two high ranking military officers. His world unravels when his father, the local sheriff, investigating a corrupt police force, turns up missing in the mountains of his Colorado hometown. As he joins his brother and the state's Governor to help solve the corruption investigation a mysterious alliance is discovered that exposes his father's past and a secret organization. When politics turn on him, and he the prosecutor becomes the prosecuted, he finally faces the military's justice system and his family's hidden secrets.

Charles Feldmann lives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado with his wife, three children and his English Bulldog Girtie. He is currently in private practice at his own law firm, The Law Office of Charles E. Feldmann, P.C. He was a former Marine Corps prosecutor and defense attorney and recently a former local deputy district attorney. He has taught ethics and courtroom persuasion techniques all over the country to various attorney organizations. When not playing with his three young kids on their mountain ranch, he enjoys flying helicopters. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I really enjoyed this book. The fact that much of it is true increased the suspense as the story took twists and turns I never would have predicted. Its hard to find a compelling story these days that does not follow the same old pattern. This one is an original.
