4.0 out of 5 stars A Western Farce
The Trinity movies were western comedies which succeeded not because of production values (they didn't have any) but because they were hilarious. Terrence Hill and Bud Spenser made them so. That made a "son's of" movie a dangerous prospect. Could a new cast of characters recapture the hilarity?

This was a 'fair attempt' at revisiting the Trinity Movies.

The 'background' cast members were folk from both the first two movies. If your Looking for Terrence or Bud you won't find them here. I was Dissapointed that the 'sons' had the same names.

It would have been a better movie without calling them 'Trinity and Bambino'.

They do. Two unknowns play the parts of the sons of Trinity and Bambino and capture their mannerisms well. They clean up a western town, right the wrongs and pick up the laughs. The quality of the film is improved as well. It works.

Many of the situations are frankly absurd. That is part of what makes it funny. Try this one for some cheap laughs.

I Did like the movie, although at times, it felt strained, like they were trying too much to capture what only Mr Hill and Mr Spencer had in the originals.

I liked to see alot of the same villians and shop keeps etc from the other movies, that was nice to see.

That's rare about cast (never again seen). It's the clone of the italian "Trinità" with Terence Hill and Bud Spencere.

Technical quality is horrible.

4.0 out of 5 stars The only "official" sequel to Trinity is Still my Name, February 18, 2011
By
This review is from: Sons of Trinity (DVD)
If you're looking for a sequel to Trinity is Still My Name, this is it. True, there are quasi-sequels to the Trinity series, some even consider "The Fight Before Christmas" (1994) to be the "third" Trinity film, however, even though the film starred Terence Hill and Bud Spencer they were not playing Trinity or Bambino. Oddly it is this film lacking even a cameo by Hill or Spencer and produced a year after "Fight" that best captures the Trinity spirit.

Perhaps it is because the director, Enzo Barboni, also directed the original two Trinity films. According to an interview with Hill, Barboni long ago had an idea for a third Trinity film called "And They Insist Upon Calling Him Trinity." It is debatable whether or not any of Barboni's ideas for that film ended up in this one, but the humor is true to the Trinity plot format and style.

The actor portraying the son of Trinity actually looks (and sounds depending upon the dubber) like Terence Hill. Bambino doesn't look exactly like Bud Spencer, but he's still got a good look and way of grunting that fits the part. As an added bonus, several of the original actors from the first two Trinity films appear in this, in some cases portraying the same characters (such as the Mexican Bandits).

No, this isn't as good as the original Trinity films, but its a darned good effort!

This is an old "spaghetti" western and the characters are hilarious! I have several of this series and would love to have more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring Your Laughs, Those Two are Finally Back!!!, June 9, 2001

After all these years of creative new film development, we finally return to the good old days of humor when comedy was based on script rather than idiotic camera tricks. Buy this movie and live again; and if you haven't lived before, obtain copies of the first three works of art and start living.
