I bought this plan from a Sony outlet store in destin, FL. They promised how great it was. I thought well I bought a Sony and would probably never use the warranty, but for peace of mind I bought it. Especially since the TV was so expensive. Well fast forward 3 years later, the TV broke. I called to get them to fix it or replace it. Then the run around began. They called a local vendor and the vendor asked me a few questions and said they knew exactly what it was. Sony tv's have a self diagnosis, which does it by blinking a code. Based on that code the repair company determined that it was the panel, which cost more to repair than to replace. I called Sony warranty to get the replacement then they started telling me that it had to go to the adjudications department, then they wanted the repair company to verify their work. Next they wanted another repair company to verify. Now I'm in the waiting process, caught in their bureaucracy, I'm told at least 2 more weeks. Its already been two weeks. By the way it is going back to adjudication, hmmm. RUN AROUND. I gave a two, because they are nice when I talk to them. I'll give an update with a 1, if they don't fix or replace. Also a recomendation never to buy.

Update. I did finally get the TV replaced. They replaced it with a newer model since this model was no longer made. The company made me sign a release of liability contract so with this tv I'm on my own. I added a star because they did give me a better TV. The repair company claimed that he had rarely seen a Sony do what mine did. Buy at your own risk.

I had this warranty on my last set which after 2.5 years and the control pane went out and I given the choice of a new set or a cash settlement. I took the new set. Had the new set within 10 days. Now I'm off to purschase a warranty for it.

Disregard my previous review if you saw it as I cannot remove. This company is the same one servicing plans sold through the Sony Store.

I have no comment as to the quality of this third-party service provider, positive or negative. Just want to make sure Amazon customers get the full story. It is very misleading to imply that this is Sony Service as opposed to a third-party.

The TV is perfect. But having the coverage was what I needed to protect me from and possible problems. I have found it refreshing that no problems have arose.
