Great Sub That Came With The Sony HT-DDW830 Home Theater System,
This review is from: Sony 8'' 50-Watt Powered Subwoofer (SA-WM20) (Electronics)
When i got the Sony HT-DDW830 Home Theater System a few years back from circuit city i didnt pay much mind to this woofer until i plugged the system to the digital optical sound cable that the cable box and sound system was compatible with, the sound for the woofer is tremendous considering it is an 8", it put the output out of a 10", i kind of know becuase im a speaker buff when it comes to car audio... the response on the woofer is delayed about .05 seconds but it shouldnt be noticable if your other speakers are proforming to par. In a Average - medium size room this sub deff delivers the results. I wouldnt necessarly pay [...] bucks for it alone but the fact that it is amplified and has its own controls on it makes it a value if purchased brand new for that price. If your following the sony theme then buy this for your home audio, if you however are looking for a substitue for a broken sub then i suggest you go for a cheaper variety... hope this helps.

for less money and better sound i was able to get a subwoofer that shuts itself off after 11 mins of no music input. i read the instructions and dont see anything about auto shutoff... soapparently this just runs 24/7 while im at work or leave for the weekend to my other house which HAS auto shutoff subwoofers..has sony ever heard of energystar?? otherwise it works well but for less money you can find one w/auto shutoff. i use it in the bedroom and it provides adequate base.. |
