This device is NOT an original Sony product...it is however very much advertised as such.
Advertised as Sony, gives you the correct product model number and everything... open up you package...thing says "WasabiPower"...WTF?...it works....for a cheap knockoff.
I'm just saying...wouldn't it be nice to know what your buying, before you buy it.

I bought this thinking it was able to charge the battery without taking it out of camera (DSC-W70). Not the case for most Sony digital cameras. The purpose of the adapter is to power the camera while using it and not to charge the battery.

So if you are looking to use the camera while attached to a cord for a long period to save your battery this adapter is great.
