Product Description

Quickly charge your Sony V, H, and P series batteries. The charger will refuel your battery much faster than in camera charging.

I hesitated but it turned out to be well worth the money.

I was getting ready to go on vacation earlier this year and I needed to do something about my camcorder batteries. I had three batteries, two large, and one small capacity. The smaller capacity battery was still in decent shape, but the two larger batteries would not hold a charge very long.

I suspected the cheap little plastic 120-volt charger that I received with my camcorder was part of the problem. It was not large enough to have much "brains" and I thought it might not be treating my batteries with the proper care.

So, I had a choice, buy new batteries, or buy a new charger. Neither choice was going to be real cheap, but I figured that if the cheap little charger was not treating the batteries right then there was no sense in buying new batteries just to have them mistreated by the cheap little charger.

So, I decided to buy this very expensive charger, which looked like it was pretty sophisticated and would do a lot better job of charging the batteries. I was hoping that it might actually be able to bring my two larger batteries back to life.

Before I got this charger, my two larger batteries would incorrectly display the amount of time left on them. While using the camcorder the camcorder would show anywhere from 30-60 minutes of recording time left on the batteries and then all of a sudden the camcorder would just shut down. The InfoLithium communication between the batteries and the camcorder was not working properly at all.

I left for vacation one day after receiving this charger, so I didn't have any time to do anything other than top off my three batteries. The first thing I noticed when using the batteries was that the InfoLithium communication between the batteries and the camcorder seemed to be a lot more believable.

I sortof cringed at the price on this charger but after reading reviews about how the cheaper chargers can shorten battery life, and the fact that I frequently have two batteries to charge by the end of the day, I decided to buy this one. It has an informative LCD display that display bettery charge level, statys and estimated record time.
Please note this charger does NOT charge two betteries at once. Instead it will charge the batter in compartment #1 then when done, will automatically switch and charge the battery in compartment #2.
This charger also comes with a cable that connects to the side of the charger on one end and to your camcorder on the other end and will act as an a/c power adapter. The nice thing about that is I don't have to carry the a/c adapter my cam came with in addition to this charger. Note: the charger will NOT power the camera AND charge batteries at the same time.
This charger does charge the batteries a bit faster than trying to charge them in the camcorder itself.

Although you have two positions for batteries the charger only charges one battery at a time. You can load both positions with batteries and turn the unit on and position 1 starts charging and when it finishes it automatically switches to position 2 and charges that battery. I have the largest batteries you can buy for my Sony camera and the charger charges them very rapidly. This is really a nice unit and really speeds up my battery charging cycle.

Expensive but easy to understand and use. This and the smart battery really tell you what is going on. I hesitated but it turned out to be well worth the money.

Charger works great. I no longer have to plug in my camera to charge a battery. Just plug the charger in, and attach one or two batteries. Great addition to my Sony camera.

The Sony ACVQV10 AC Adaptor/Charger - Black works great for charging the Sony NP-FV50 and NP-FV-70 Batteries. You can put 2 batteries on the Charger. When the 1st battery is charged, the second battery with charge.

First off, this feels like a very expensive unit. But $100? It can charge 2 batteries at once. But not at the same time. This is helpful if you need to charge 2 batteries but won't be around to change them out (like you would with a single charger). This is the biggest pro that I see. Although, for $100 wouldn't you expect it to charge them both at the same time? It has a "Quick 10-minute charge" feature which is supposed to give you 55-minutes of battery life.

You cannot charge your batteries and operate the camera at the same time. I cannot think of why they bothered to include the adapter to hook it up to your camera. It makes no sense. Why not just use the adapter that came with your camera? It's smaller and has less of a change of getting disconnected. 3 stars for the ridiculous price and the no-charge & operate at the same time stupidity.

I purchased the wasabi power batteries for my hdr-cx560v & my NX7OU. Recently, at a live shoot one of those batteries failed. It showed that 3 hours were remaining right before the camera shut off. I had been using those batteries before for over a year with nary a problem. Next time I will be plugging in for all live events. Anyway, I am hoping this unit gives that suspect battery a "better" charge, and can fix the data inaccuracy between the battery capacity and the remaining charge display on the camera screen. I purchased this for work. Had I used my own $, it would have gone back already. If it fixes my suspect wasabi battery I will update (and be glad I kept it).
