The grip is of high quality and excellent design. Sony spent time thinking about the ergonomics of this grip. The best feature is that when attaching the grip you don't have to remove the battery door on the camera body. It just slips in a cutout inside the grip. Very convienent feature.

This is an excellent product, follows Sony tradition. Perfect ergonomics and lighter than I expected. All buttons/controls are in the right place making the use a breeze!

All my Sony Alpha camera bodies have vertical grips installed on them. I would never do without one. They assist importantly in the proper operation and use of the cameras to which they are attached. I like the build quality, overall design, professional appearance and the conveniences and ease of operation they provide. I would DEFINITELY recommend any Sony Alpha camera owner to equip his/her camera bodies with vertical grips.

I got this grip for my a850 to help my grip when using heavy lenses, for portrait shooting and longer battery life. Construction is very solid and really looks great with the a850. Functionally sound and great shutter and button layout. My only gripe is that this grip does not support third party batteries. When I tried to use a cheaper third party battery with the grip, it would say wrong battery type or unsupported battery. When I pop in genuine Sony batteries, works flawlessly. Third party batteries are way cheaper than the Sony brand, which is like 40-70 bucks each. You can get 6 third party batteries for that amount! Maybe it's just my particular model, but other than that, it's works as it should and looks great.

This vertical grip is perfect for this camera, it compliments a camera that is a joy to use.

PURCHEST A MAGIC LANTERN GUIDE FOR THE SONY DSLR A900, LIKE I DO FOR ALL MY CAMERAS WHEN AVAIABLE. BUT NEVER RECEIVED THE MANUAL, OR AN EXPLANATION FROM MY EMAIL SENT, WHERE IS IT, WHEN IT DID NOT ARRIVE. BUT THE VERTICAL GRIP ARRIVED IN 1 PIECE AND ON TIME, UNFORTUNATLY MARRED BY THE NON ARRIVAL OF THE BOOK......I DID NOT GET A MANUAL WITH THE CAMERA AS IT WAS A SECOND FROM SONY, HAD 3 MONTHS WARRENTY, BUT BOUGHT AS IS NO MANUAL, OR CHARGER, BUT HAD A BATTERY, AND MY A700 HAS THE SAME CHARGER, WHICH WORKED OUT OKAY..,AND THE VERTICAL GRIP FOR THAT WAS PERFECT, SO WAS THE MAGIC LANTERN GUIDE. WISH MY A900 GUIDE WOULD ARRIVE OR A EXPLANATION. GOODBYE TONY
