I hope SONY will read this and start including this type of charger with their high-end cameras like Canon does! I was dismayed when I saw the HUGE charger that came with my SLEEK P200 ultracompact camera. The cord is at least 3 feet long! And it takes hours to charge. This charger takes 80 mins. I only gave it 4 stars because I didn't appreciated having to pay $50 for something that I feel should have been FREE. BUT it's a great charger. It simply plugs into an outlet and your battery is FULLY CHARGED in only 80 mins. Best of all, there are no long cords to have to store. This is so compact that you can carry it with you. Perfect for travel.

This little charger has been great. It smaller than it appears in the photo, charges quickly, and doesn't heat up. It's certainly easier to travel with than the bulky in camera charging set up that came with my T-series camera. It's just a shame that SONY doesn't include it with the camera.

I travel for a living. I am sick to death of all the cords, wires, connectors, adapters, etc. that go with today's assortment of electronic miracles. It is bad enough with the stuff I have to carry, like my computer, my shaver, etc., but for the voluntary fun stuff, like my digital camera, it is intolerable. Enter the Sony battery charger. No more connectors, etc. Just drop the battery in it and plug it into the wall. Anywhere! i use it all over North and South America. I just toss it into the suitcase and off I go. Also, it charges FAST. Wouldn't be without it! Also, as usual, Amazon delivered a great product with great speed and efficiency.

Love this thing! Small, portable so I can carry it anywhere. Small orange light turns off to let me know battery's fully charged. Glad I got it!

I purchased this item because while travelling the original cord was misplaced and I need to recharge my battery on a regular basis
Since then I have found the original cord but I am still glad I purchased this item because it is compact and great for travel recharging

This is a very good item because it is easier to use and charges faster than the one that came with the camera.
It really makes me wonder why Sony doesn't furnish this charger originally with the camera.
The only factor that I can think of is that when it charges faster than the one furnished with the camera is that it shortens the battery life.- Just a thought.

Easy to take in your purse or bag if you are traveling, I love it!

The adapter is small and easy to pack anywhere. The power plug retracts nicely into the body of the charger so it will not harm or scratch any item that goes in the same bag. Nice alternative to the original bulky charger that came with my Sony DSC-P200 for traveling.

Compact sized charger with retractable prongs is great for travel. It has a small green light to indicate charge status.

It does have its price but it is very nice and handy. It is kinda unneccessary. I bought it because I didn't have the original charger.It can be a nice addition if you also have two batteries. I also bought the VMC-15MU cable, which allows you to transfer data directly and to get rid of that docking station.

The main advantage is that it is easy to store and to carry with you, allowing you to charge your batteries without constantly exposing or using your camera. You can have your camera stored somewhere and charge your batteries with this device that has no wires and is probably more or less as small as it can get for charging a battery.

The "plugs" can be turned siedewise into the device, to prevent them from obstructing while storing the device in a bag for example. It has a yellow light which goes on while charging and turns off once it has finished. The battery should be removed from the device within 24 hours after being charged.
