Customer Reviews

This little charger does an excellent job of quickly recharging that other battery.

This is the factory Sony charger, in my opinion worth a few bucks to get the genuine article.

This charger really should have been supplied with the NEX 5R like it is with the NEX 5N.

I have the NEX-6. It kind of burns through the battery pretty quickly. I purchased this and another sony battery. This little charger does an excellent job of quickly recharging that other battery. You will not need more that 2 batteries and this charger.

To keep these type of batteries fresh, just change them as soon as the other one is topped off. Lithium batteries are best if used in the top of their charge range (they will last a LOT longer if you never take them down to zero). It is the exact opposite of the old style rechargeable batteries that you had to take to zero or they got a "memory."

Anyway, keep your camera off that USB cable, and in your hands capturing memories. Get this product and free up your camera from the "battery charging time."

If you bought one of the newer NEX cameras (NEX-5R for me) you discovered that SONY cut costs by getting rid of the battery charger. You have to charge the battery via a USB plug into the camera now. If you have a second battery, which is almost a must with these cameras, you have to charge them before hand or wait for the camera to be fully charged before you can take it out and document the beautiful world we bought our cameras for. Who's got time to sit there and wait for our cameras to charge?

Like Sweet Brown says, "Ain't nobody got time for that!"

Overall this is a good charger. It's made by Sony so maybe that's why the extra price. Paying $35+ for a charger seems dumb to me. But you pay for the Sony Name Brand...

I have now tried a wide enough selection of chargers to tell everyone why for the W series batteries this is the one you want.

It has nothing to do with the battery. It is entirely based on how long a charger should last before breaking in an average camera bag.

Nothing protrudes from, or will break off of this charger. Even if you drop your bag.

End of Review. Nothing else really sets this charger apart from the rest.

The little arms that oh so gently caress the battery while it charges in the premium tech charger broke while the compartment I stored it in was being zipped shut. I have two Sony's. Well worth the price.

This charger is fast and quick like they say. The charger is made with one plug that flips for travel. No wires. It stays in the wall.
The quality is excellent.

Item is not as described. This charger doesn’t have a detachable power cord. Otherwise, it’s useful for which it does.

The Sony NEX-3NL/B inexplicably ships without an external charger (NEX=3 users get to idle their cameras and charge via an AC adapter or computer and a USB cable).

If you have a long day of image capturing ahead, you'll want both an extra Sony NPFW50 "Wasabi" battery *and* and external charger so you can work uninterrupted.

Why this wasn't in the box with the NEX-3 is a mystery!

This charger can also be used for the Sony NEX-7, which also uses the Wasabi battery.

You can find much cheaper non-Sony branded "compatible" chargers (and batteries). Select and use at your own risk.

Good functionality, but Sony could offer this for less; less one star for the high price compared with aftermarket offerings.

If you have more than one battery, you need to have this external quick charger. Works great for charging a spare while out shooting.

The new NEX6 camera comes only with an in-camera charger cable which means it is not possible to charge a second battery conveniently. This is the factory Sony charger, in my opinion worth a few bucks to get the genuine article.
