Bought as a gift for my daughter and she loves it.
The menu is just like a Playstation menu - so if you are used to that, you will be able to navigate easily.

I'm giving it 3 stars because the DVD and Netflix and YOUTube all work great, but I specifically selected this unit over cheaper ones because the box advertised it could play Amazon Movies, but when I try to use the functionality, I get a message that says "This service is coming soon, please try back later." I see other reviewers have cited this problem, I wish I had read them first. My bad. Anyway, it seems to be a good unit so far, other than for that.

UPDATE 1: Per the message I got below, I have increased my rating to 4 stars, and will make it a full 5 stars as soon as Amazon Movies are available, which should be by end of March 2014. Stay tuned!

UPDATE 2 (Mar-30-2014): A software update was made available and now I am able to get Amazon movies, as promised, so I am upping my rating to 5 stars. It is an excellent machine.

***UPDATE 8/10/14: Sony seems to have sorted out all the issues concerning the functionality of the apps, like Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, and Vudu. That being said I've increased the rating to 4 stars. If you buy the BDP-S3200 make sure one of the first things you do check for a firmware update and update if needed.

***UPDATE 3/22/14: Sony finally released the software update for the BDP-S3200 which was suppose to correct the issues with the apps; when clicking on Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, and Vudu a window popped up that said "not available". With the software update Amazon Instant Video, Vudu, and Netflix were suppose to be working fine. However some people are still reporting issues with Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, and network errors when loading apps. I did also have some issues with Hulu Plus. The player would completely lock up when loading a show. Since the release of the blu-ray player in late January the price has dropped to about $90 which makes it more attractively prices. However, it is apparent that Sony hasn't sorted out all the issues concerning apps with the player. With all the app issues resolved, the BDP-3200 would be deserving of 4 stars.***

The Sony BDP-S3200 is the replacement for the BDP-S3100 and is in the middle of Sony's lineup of blu-ray players. The BDP-S3200 has a lot of promise with all of its features; wireless internet connectivity, 200+ apps for media streaming, a web browser, Sony's TVSideView smartphone app, and SEN (Sony Entertainment Network) for renting and purchasing movies and TV shows. Additionally it features a USB port for playing music, videos, or displaying pictures from a thumb drive or hard drive.

Bought one through Amazon. Worked great at first, blu ray looked good, all streaming worked well. After a few months streaming kicked, out, then blu ray stopped playing discs. Normally, at this price point, I would have thrown it out, but I wanted to teach my kids a lesson so I boxed it up, went through the (painful) warrantly form process on line, and shipped it back to Sony. A refurbished model arrived quickly. Again, hooked it up, loaded all of the apps (which takes some time to activate), and it worked great. Second time I booted it up it said there was a firmware update that I should install, so I clicked yes. Guess what happened. Amazon and Netflix boot up, then crash, just like the first one I bought. Also, DVDs start up, and then quit, just like the first one I bought. (I must have installed the firmware update on that one too, and never connected the dots. So this issue is now identified. Whatever firmware update Sony is putting outthere is causing its blu rays to crash. IF YOUR PLAYER IS WORKING FINE, BEWARE INSTALLING FIRMWARE UPDATES.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
This player is being used with a wireless network, a flat screen LED non-3D television, a surround sound AV (audio/video) amplifier and speakers. Set-up is simple, connect the player to the amplifier using a high speed HDTV cable, which was not supplied, and then connect the power adapter. Next, insert the supplied batteries in the remote control, turn it on and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to the wireless network and download the software upgrade, as was indicated in my case.

There is also a coaxial digital audio connection on the back which can be used to provide enhanced sound, and a 100 Mbps (megabits per second) Ethernet connection which may be used to connect to a wired network instead of using the built-in Wi-Fi wireless connection.

Playing a disk is simple. When the device is turned on, and a disc inserted, the movie menu appears on the screen, and then selections are made from the remote control. You can see what settings are selected at any time by clicking the Display button on the remote control.

The player automatically detected the type of disk, Blu-ray or regular DVD, and in my case, switched to surround sound by default. It also plays 3D disks and BD-live disks that automatically download bonus content but those were not evaluated because of my set-up.

Other features are accessed through pressing the "Home" button on the remote which displays the main menu. The "Video" option permits the selection of content from a USB drive inserted in the device, or from a variety of equipment or devices on your home network like computers, tablets, external hard drives, media storage, etc. The menu uses the same type of folder system as most computers.
