Never Had a Problem., August 2, 2010
This review is from: Sony BDVT10 / BDV-T10 / BDV-T10 Blu-Ray Disc Home Theater System (Electronics)
Not going to buy another Bluray system till I have to. This unit has proven itself to me, so I got one for my Gramps. Great Sound, and beautiful picture with nice HDTV. Easy to navigate menu and access all content. Yeah, I'm very happy with this Sony.

Great product, great price!, November 13, 2010

We got this to go with our new TV and what a great package for under $300 ($500 elsewhere)! It took me a little while to figure out the functions and how to get them to display on the TV, but that probably had more to do with my non-techie self and trying to figure out the TV at the same time. The auto calibration mic is a nice bonus and helps you set up the surround sound without having to know what you are doing. I did end up moving the mic around a few times to get the balance I wanted, but very easy to do. The iPod dock is nice and you can also work your iPod with the stereo remote which is cool. Don't yet have any blu-rays to watch on it, but the DVDs look great. I also found that it converted older DVDs with full screen/4:3 ratio to play as 16:9 and fit the TV. It's possible that the DVD already had that ability, but I don't think so because it never worked like that on other DVD players. Another nice feature is that while this system does have wired speakers, it has the ability to be wireless/whole house if you buy the Sony wireless (AIR?) set up.
The only thing to note is the speaker wire connections. It was listed as "spring clip" or something, which I assumed (yeah, I know) meant the wire went directly into the receiver & speakers - no "adapter" type thing. Well, it does go into the speaker like that, but there is a plastic thing that plugs into the receiver. There is a decent amount of speaker wire (though very small gauge) but I needed more. I was able to get some additional speaker wire and splice it to connect to the provided wire. Then I just connected the new wire right into the speakers. Not a big deal and it works fine, but I would have preferred to just get a longer run of larger gauge wire to run directly without the splices.
All in all - very very pleased with this system. Definitely a great buy!
