Got the headband mount from J&R together with HDR-AS15. The headband mount is of good quality and works as expected. However what I found is during the filming the headband tends to have the camera shoot straight out and a lot of my activities are actually down a bit, hence I wish the mount could have some tilt down adjustment. Of course I can adjust the headband to tilt the whole setup down but it will become uncomfortable and you risk the headband pops out from the back.

Why the heck did Sony even think about doing a horizontal swivel when you can just adjust the head-band left or right? They need to make one with vertical swivel cause when you wear the head-band, the action cam is pointed upward or else if you tried to adjust the band it would simply get loose and pop out of your head. I am returning it tomorrow.

If I had to complain about this product, I'd say it needs a vertical swivel. The camera tends to angle upwards while its on your head so you get mostly sky and less ground.

I tried to wear this on my head (no helmet) and it didn't work out as good as I had expected. It didn't really stay in one place and easily slides back and forth on the headband. Like others have said, it can't point up and down, only straight. I think it's best use is around a helmet, where your goggle nook is. In conclusion, it's alright, but nowhere near perfect.

If only this could adjust up and down. Nope only side to side. Still it was cheap and gets the job done. That said why didn't they give it the all important up and down adjustment. We may never know?

This works as expected. The headband is included even though the product description does not mention it. We've been using it as a baby cam.

Fits snugly and clasps click on satisfyingly without any loose play.
I got mixed feelings after using it during a gokart circuit
While the band stayed on, it was slipping off its position and causing the camera to tilt
I ended up using industrial thick black rubber bands to hold the original band in place and cloth padding to align the camera properly.

This case fits perfectly around the Action cam and feels very sturdy. It is also super lightweight in comparison to the waterproof case and also will not muffle the sound like the water proof case does.

I highly recommend.

If you want to be able to adjust the camera vertically and horizontally, buy the Sony Universal Head Mount Kit (BLT-UHM1) instead. This mount is a cheaper alternative but it doesn't offer the camera protection and/or adjustability of the BLT-UHM1

Wanting to utilize My Sony Action Cam to its fullest potential for climbing, cycling and kayaking, I felt a headband mount was the best choice for hands-free use. I generally like to look at products made by the manufacturer first before shopping third party, but in this, case felt the Sony Headband mount was best suited for my needs.

I do like the fact that my camera fits in a cradle that mimics the camera’s body with a top mounted and secure clamp. A swivel allows you to move it approximately 10-degrees left or right. I had purchased the Live View wristband but realized that I generally don’t need it because of the wide shoot angle, though it does come in handy to preview the shot. You still have access to all the function buttons though you cannot utilize the waterproof case with this headband mount.

I have taken exceptional footage with the headband and while adjustability is excellent, you may have to play around with it a bit to find the sweet spot where it’s neither too tight nor too loose, where the camera flops about.

All things tolled, I would replace this headband mount in a New York minute if I lost it.
