5.0 out of 5 stars Nice addition
I use this for my iphone and it works fantastic. Plays stereo bluetooth just like it does for an ipod. Can even use the iphone's bluetooth for phone calls at the same time. It also has the clips to hold the connector in place as some other brands do not. Great product Sony!

2.0 out of 5 stars Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter on an iPhone 3G
The product was easy to link up and I was at first happy, thinking "this works great," however I've experienced many interruptions in streaming music in the form of stops and starts which are apparently signal interruptions of some sort. They don't seem to be pinpointed to any particular type of location and it makes listening to music less than pleasant.

This took about 10 minutes to get set up and get connected to the base (receiver). For the receiver I use a Sony HWSBTA2W - Bluetooth wireless transmitter/receiver which operates very good. It was fairly easy to connect to the Sony HWSBTA2W though the instructions on it were a little ambiguous to me. As you don't hold the bluetooth connect and power button at the same time to get it in paring mode. You just hold the bluetooth pairing button for about 7 seconds (on the receiver, HWSBTA2W) until the lights start flashing for the connection process. Then hold the button on the iPod bluetooth unit while holding it close to the receiver and your good to go. (Make sure you iPod is on). Sound quality is very good with these two set up is Excellent.
I use a 30GB 5th or 5.5 generation Video iPod.

Setup Very Good 4 ****
Operation Excellent 5 *****

On top of that, just 40 days after purchase, the unit just stopped working. When pushing the button, I get no power. I get nothing. I'm in the process now of getting it replaced via warranty with Sony, but that's still not going to solve the intermittent problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sony Wireless Bluetooth a joy!, September 13, 2010

The Sony Wireless Bluetooth transmitter works as seamlessly as my iPod. I have a Bose system in my new Mazda with Bluetooth music capability installed. The Sony transmitter linked up instantly, uses minimal power and sounds great. As a musician I am always fussy about audio. This is a great way to enjoy long rides while enjoying your favorite tunes. This one does a great job!

4.0 out of 5 stars Do you need this?, December 14, 2009
This review is from: Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (White) (Electronics)
I have had this device for over 8 months and purchased one for a friend as a gift. They both worked out great! I am using this with my ipod touch 2.0 and my friends ipod touch. I have recently updated to the 3.0 software for ipod touch and the BUILT IN bluetooth hardware no longer requires that I use this device. I will be selling mine on ebay I guess. Before you buy, make sure you need it. The $5 upgrade to the 3.0 software was way less than purchasing this device.

This little item allowed me to use my blooth headset Plantronice 820 which has the option of a second plug in stereo ear bud and I am free of wires. The distance of transmission is great. I can now walk around the office and listen to my music with a little more freedom. Thanks for a great item and the fast shipping and promt service.
Deffinately recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well with iPhone 3G & Jabra BT8010, February 8, 2009
This review is from: Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (White) (Electronics)
This Sony adapter works well with the iPhone 3G. The key seems to be choosing a headset that can pair with TWO devices at once. The iPhone handles the call functions and the Sony adapter handles the music functions. You will get a message that the adapter is not compatible with the iPhone 3G when plugging it in. The message will ask if you want to put the phone in Airplane Mode - say NO.

Other reviews say the Motorola S99 stereo headsets work well with this adapter and the iPhone 3G. I can verify the the Jabra Bt8010 stereo headset works well with it, both is stereo and mono mode.

This little transmitter works perfectly with my first gen ipod touch, and looks very cute too! Just simply attach it to the ipod, press the button and it was paired with my Sony DR-BT140Q Bluetooth Stereo Earphones in a few seconds. The sound is very clear and it supports AVRCP so I can skip/rewind remotely through my earphones :) Very convenient!

This worked immediately with my ipod and iphone. Note that the iphone (3G) said that this was not a compatible iphone device. The iphone lies. It works.
