The Sony CCD-TRV328 is everything you’d want in a Hi8 Handycam camcorder, at a price that’s easy on the wallet. It features a large 2.5" SwivelScreen LCD display, the NightShot Plus infrared recording system, a massive 20X optical zoom and the new Easy Handycam button. It even includes SteadyShot picture stabilization to help keep a smooth picture in even the roughest situations. Best of all, it packs all of these features in a compact design that’s perfect for anyone who’s on the go.

	Battery information is momentarily displayed without having to power on the camcorder. Quickly access the battery's status by pressing the Battery Info button. The Recording Time Available is displayed in minutes on either the LCD screen or in the viewfinder.		With Sony's NightShot Infrared system you can capture natural looking video even when shooting in low light up to 10 feet away using the built-in infrared system.
	With a press of the Easy Handycam button, most of the advanced functions of the camcorder are "locked out" leaving only the buttons essential for recording operational.		Stamina Power Management the combination of low power consumption and an optional InfoLithium battery give Sony Handycam models incredible operating time. To keep tabs on battery life, Sony's AccuPower meter displays the number of minutes remaining -- right in the viewfinder.
	SteadyShot Picture Stabilization smoothes and steadies your images without degrading picture quality. Sony does it with motion sensors --- a more accurate system than many other camcorders on the market.

When our 8mm stopped working that we had used for nine years, I found it overwhelming to research and find a new camera.
I knew I didn't want digital because I don't even use my digital still camera very often, other than to e-mail pictures.
I knew that I wanted another 8mm, so that we could play our tapes we have now. I didn't want to spend too much money. We received this camera a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. It even has more options than I really need. We charged the battery when we got the camera and for 2 weeks we have been filming the kids occasionally and the battery is still full. I never thought I would use the night vision, but have found it is fun to film the kids when they are asleep and I don't have to turn a light on to film. The zoom works well and the color looks good. For the price, I don't see how you could get a better camera. I don't think you could find a better analog camera even if you did spend more money. I obviously can't comment on how well it will hold up in the future, but as far as its performance now, I love it.

I owned this camera for a long time and I absolutely loved it. I Don't know what that other guy with the bad review is talking about, saying this camera has grainy pictures. It is analog so the video is not as clear as digital, but for an analog camera the video is great. I would recommend this camera to any one who wants a nice analog camera with great features and who is not ready to delve into the digital world.

This camcorder is great. It is both easy to use, and records beautifully. A great camcorder in this price range. I bought mine used, and love it.
