I jog with two dogs so hand-holding my CD Walkman is not an option. In the past I've carried cassette Walkmen in my pocket, and dropped them regularly. When I purchased my first CD Walkman I wanted a better way, and this CD Carrying Case is it. The unit fits snugly in the case and the belt fits snugly around my waist. The unit is secure, and if I ever do drop it (which has not happened yet) there is an extra layer of padding. The downside is that all controls are inaccessible except the start/stop button. I solve that problem by setting the various controls in advance, hitting the Hold button to lock them in and prevent accidental change, and using headphones with volume control on the cords. As to the looks, who cares? I mean, if you're serious about exercise you're out there in a ragged tee shirt and shorts, your hair's a mess, you're covered in sweat and you smell bad. You're not going to win any beauty contests with or without a carrying case.

Small belt,
By A Customer

Be sure of your waistline dimensions when you order this item. The length of the belt should be disclosed so those with mature figures don't order something that has to be worn around the neck.

Pretty Decent other than a gaudy buckle,

When i read the reviews about this product, i was kinda hestitant, especially with the last one that gave it only two stars, saying it looking like a luggage strap. I don't mind the material itself does. it's made of this kinda greyish/steel blue semi-stretchy material, which could have been a little more stretchy, if your someone like me who would only really use this when doing cardio (i.e. running, eliptical trainer, cycling, etc. no swimming obviously)What's nice is it has a reflector strip on it for those of you that are night/early morning joggers. i have the iRiver SlimX iMP-550 CD/MP3 Player with Ultraslim Design, and it fits in the case fine, so obviously the ones listed in the stats aren't the only ones that will fit in here. But obviously your player has to be not to bulky or too wide. The good thing about my cd player is it has a remote, otherwise the soft netting on the inside (where the front of the cd player faces you, where the buttons usually are) would be rather annoying to press or find. They should have put a very soft, flexible, clear plastic there instead of netting. But if you have one of those cd players that has the buttons on the ends like the sony dn-e58ck or sony dn-f610... this won't be a problem for you, because the top of the pocket, where the cd player slides in, has a cut to it that allows those buttons to be free of fabric or netting, and easily accessible. But then again, i like to constantly skip around thro my music, so if aren't like me than these feature shouldn't hinder you too much. These, to me, were minor set backs, since this case wasn't really meant for my cd player, but still works. The only thing i didnt really like about it, was the buckle that holds the two straps around your waist. It's big! i felt like i was strapping myself in to go rock climbing! Overall, i think it was a decent investment, but perhaps i could have done a little better. I'd give it 3.5 stars, (but there is no way to select halfsie stars).

Weird design -- can't access volume buttons,

Ok, I bought this for jogging with my Sony Atrac CD player, and it works ok as far as just keeping the player from bouncing around too much or falling out. Other than that, though . . . bleh.
The look of the case isn't all that great, but I can live with that. The real problem I have with it is that you can't get to the volume buttons when the player's in the case, and you can't pull it out of the case without unplugging the headphones. Sure, you can preset the controls, but if you're jogging or exercising and find the volume on a particular song too loud, you're pretty much stuck with it. It really makes me wonder if they couldn't have done something different there. Maybe put the headphone slit a little further forward a bit or make a flap or something so you can get to the volume buttons? I'm not terribly happy with it, but I can't find another case that would work better. If anyone knows of one, can you post it in your review or something? Thanks.

Perfect For the Job,

It does exactly what it needs to do, and I actually like the look of it. My only complaint is that you've gotta jiggle the headphones a bit to get them in, and it took me a minute to figure out where the headphones hooked in, but it's been fairly smooth sailing since (with the only other bump in the road being that I can reach every button but the "Volume").

I like this carrying case but it's a pian to get the headphones in the little hole on the side. also it's not confortable to sit with and use and it hard to see what buttons you're pushing. other then that I like it.

Cut off the belt!,

I cut off the weird belt... Now I can slip my own belt through the little slits put in the case (on either side) for headphone access. It is a bit fiddly but works fine. The case is nice and small (compared to other CD player carrying cases) and now I don't feel so conspicuous when I wear it.

UGLY BUT FUNCTIONAL,
By MW "Pittwater563" (Planet Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sony CDCASE3 Carrying Case For CD Walkman (Electronics)
The price and the brand is the reason I'd bought it. The Walkman case is standard and it has a durable nylon exterior. The strap attached to the case is fixed and sewn on. It is approximately 2.3 inch (58mm) thick and it looks exactly like a chunky luggage belt (which is my main complaint). It seems the makers had placed very "little" effort into it. I don't care much for the color. Who wants anything that's grey anyway (unless if you still live in the early 80s)? Grey must have been the color of indecisiveness. Perhaps something chosen out of compromise. It's neither one nor the other. I haven't used it yet. I am too embarrassed to be seen with it in public. If you need a cheap and functional CD Walkman carrying case, then this is the product for you. Don't expect too much in terms of aesthetics. I may have to look for another case in the future. Look out, for some friend of yours (me for example) might palm this item off to you as a reject.
