This receiver was well worth the time and money put in to installing it into my car. It's very powerful and sounds great. The USB connection on the unit is extremely useful and allows me to charge portable devices such as my phone and my iPod while I'm driving. The only issues I have are that there is no dedicated off button, you must hold down source to turn it off. This makes it inconvenient in some situations when I need to turn the sound off fast. The other issue is that the AM/FM radio source sounds staticy and not clear most of the time, I don't know if this is the receiver or my car, but it doesn't bother me much because I don't listen to the radio.

Great IPOD receiver,

The Sony CDX-GT440U In-Dash CD Receiver MP3/WMA/AAC Player works great with my IPOD and other equipment. With the right speakers the sound is good and I have good reception on my radio (I don't know what the others are talking about, unless they forgot to hook up the antenna). The only problem I see is the display is always jumping around (sometimes all I want to see is the time). And the On/Off switch is the source button.

So-so FM reception,,

Bought this rcvr from another source which included the Ford F150 mounting kit free. The FM reception is, IMHO, less sensitive than the original truck radio. Important, as I live in a super fringe area. CD playback is stellar, as is the list of options for the unit. BUT, why does Sony figure nobody would wish to view BOTH the station playing AND the time of day simultaneously?? Same goes for track/selection playing AND the clock. The technology to enable this couldn't be that expensive; after all, they included the mostly usless three bar sound mixer display !!These shortcomings cause me to give it three atta-boys.

You couldn't ask for a better head unit for even DOUBLE the price!! I've bought several of them for myself and family from WorldWide Distributors through Amazon and they ship it SUPER fast every time. It installs easily in many vehicles using various trim kits and wiring harnesses. It is SO user friendly and has nearly everything we've all asked for and more!! I'd recommend this to anyone! What a FANTASTIC product!!!!

Operating Instructions are Horrendous,

This review is from: Sony CDX-GT440U In-Dash CD Receiver MP3/WMA/AAC Player (Electronics)
Installation was non-eventful. Operation manual is horrendous & the layout is not intuitive. Sounds good, but trying to figure out how to operate the thing is a deal breaker.
