The solidly built CPD-G220R combines impressive features with a reasonable price, making this an attractive monitor for home and professional uses. It features a flat, high-resolution Trinitron 17-inch viewing area (16-inch viewable) and a fine 0.24mm minimum aperture grille pitch, which combine with a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 (1,024 x 768 at 85 Hz recommended) to ensure bright, clear images that are ideal for a wide variety of applications. Along with a seemingly flat viewing surface, the G220R uses a High Density Electron gun and Accurate Image Restoration technology to ensure accurate focus over the entire screen, even in the corners.
This sturdy monitor is plug-and-play ready, making setup a breeze, while a two-button front-panel menu provides quick and easy access to a number of display settings. It connects to PC systems via a 15-pin Mini D-sub connector.

Sony monitors have been around forever, but I've been working with different generations of Sony monitors for the past 4 years, and the latest Trinitron is nearly perfect. The image is sharp and clear from center to edge, and if there's any curvature in the screen vertically or horizontally I can't detect it. They also finally got the controls right; a four-direction button adjusts brightness/contrast by default, and is also used to adjust the other settings when the on screen menu is active. A detachable monitor cable would have made this monitor perfect, but it's only a minor annoyance. It's not the cheapest monitor around, but it's a Sony, and you know the Trinitron CRT still will be looking great long into the future.
