Great for Watching DVD's and Retouching Digital Photos,
By MartyHansen (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sony CPD-G420S 19" FD Trinitron CRT Monitor (Electronics)
I bought this Sony 19" Trinitron Monitor with the intention of watching DVD movies and retouching digital photos. I've been very pleased. For DVD's, the picture is sharp, and, with my Sony Vaio computer, the action is smooth and continuous. For photo retouching, the resolution is high, and the color reproduction (as compared to the actual printed photo) is extremely accurate. The monitor was plug-and-play (no adjustments necessary when I installed it, nor again since). The monitor's (exterior) color also matches my Sony Vaio (desktop) precisely. (Cool!) I could've gotten a LCD monitor. But it would've been smaller and less sharp. The 19" Trinitron was the largest that would fit on my desk. Overall, I've been very happy. For maximum DVD and digital photo performance -- this is clearly the monitor to get!

Do Not Pay Extra For A Sony,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony CPD-G420S 19" FD Trinitron CRT Monitor (Electronics)
I paid extra to buy a Sony with the expectation that it would be a more reliable product and with the further expectation that if I were to have problem with the monitor that Sony would stand behind its product. Unfortunately that has not proven to be the case. The monitor began to develop problems three weeks after the warranty had expired and Sony's response was essentially "tough luck".
