5.0 out of 5 stars You definitely want this to get the most from your Cybershot, September 7, 2008

After using for 4 months, I can't imagine being without it.

Prior to getting this accessory, viewing the camera's videos and still photos was cumbersome, to say the least. Imagine crouching down in front of the TV and operating the controls from this tiny camera; that is, AFTER connecting and plugging in the necessary cables each time you want to show them. then disconnecting again when you're done.

To say nothing of having to open the camera and pop out the battery for charging it in its own little wallcharger: what an annoyance. Don't forget to replace the battery before running out of the house with the camera, either!

And this accessory also includes the component cables, which seperately cost over $30.

If you own a DSC T300 or similar Cybershot and have shelled out over $500 (including MemorySticks, extra battery, case, etc.) then PLEASE spend an extra $55 on this very necessary accessory. At least necessary if you want to make using the camera and it's photos/videos much easier and more pleasant.

It's so nice to just stick the camera into this station for recharging, when you come home with it; maybe have a quick look at the photos or video you just shot; And then, just leave it there, where you know you can always find it and grab it on your way out of the house.

The extra expense for this item is a no-brainer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Important Review, January 23, 2009

Anyone looking to get this docking station should be aware that this docking station, unlike other docking stations, will NOT connect to your computer. For this sole reason I gave it 3 stars. Charging your camera and watching HD video and your pictures on a TV is a breeze with this docking station. It is very attractive and can match the T500 or T300 if you have it. I use it for the T700 and it looks very sleek. However, I used to have the CSS-TNA for my DSC-N1 and it connected to the computer as well as charged the camera and could also connect to a TV if needed. So, if you need a docking station for

Charging

Viewing pictures on a TV

Viewing Video on a TV

Then this is your best choice.

If you are looking for something that will charge your camera and let you transfer pictures and video to your computer then this docking station will disappoint you greatly.

Purchased the dock so my wife could easily pre-view our photos on her HD TV. After deleting unwanted photos and editing for red eye, etc. I transfer them to my Mac for any further tweaking and storage then sync them to her beloved Apple TV as part of her video photo album. Also, having the camera sitting in the dock always ready has saved many moments of panic when we need to grab the camera and go. A neat product well worth the money.
