5.0 out of 5 stars You definitely want this to get the most from your Cybershot

3.0 out of 5 stars Important Review
Anyone looking to get this docking station should be aware that this docking station, unlike other docking stations, will NOT connect to your computer. For this sole reason I gave it 3 stars. Charging your camera and watching HD video and your pictures on a TV is a breeze with this docking station. It is very attractive and can match the T500 or T300 if you have it. I...

This review is from: Sony CSS-HD2 Cyber-shot Station For Sony T300, T70, W170, W150 and W120 Digital Cameras (Electronics)
After using for 4 months, I can't imagine being without it.
Prior to getting this accessory, viewing the camera's videos and still photos was cumbersome, to say the least. Imagine crouching down in front of the TV and operating the controls from this tiny camera; that is, AFTER connecting and plugging in the necessary cables each time you want to show them. then disconnecting again when you're done.
To say nothing of having to open the camera and pop out the battery for charging it in its own little wallcharger: what an annoyance. Don't forget to replace the battery before running out of the house with the camera, either!

And this accessory also includes the component cables, which seperately cost over $30.
If you own a DSC T300 or similar Cybershot and have shelled out over $500 (including MemorySticks, extra battery, case, etc.) then PLEASE spend an extra $55 on this very necessary accessory. At least necessary if you want to make using the camera and it's photos/videos much easier and more pleasant.
It's so nice to just stick the camera into this station for recharging, when you come home with it; maybe have a quick look at the photos or video you just shot; And then, just leave it there, where you know you can always find it and grab it on your way out of the house.

The extra expense for this item is a no-brainer.

I use it for the T700 and it looks very sleek. However, I used to have the CSS-TNA for my DSC-N1 and it connected to the computer as well as charged the camera and could also connect to a TV if needed. So, if you need a docking station for
Charging
Viewing pictures on a TV
Viewing Video on a TV
Then this is your best choice.
If you are looking for something that will charge your camera and let you transfer pictures and video to your computer then this docking station will disappoint you greatly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, June 28, 2008

Purchased the dock so my wife could easily pre-view our photos on her HD TV. After deleting unwanted photos and editing for red eye, etc. I transfer them to my Mac for any further tweaking and storage then sync them to her beloved Apple TV as part of her video photo album. Also, having the camera sitting in the dock always ready has saved many moments of panic when we need to grab the camera and go. A neat product well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Replace my video camera, July 20, 2008
This review is from: Sony CSS-HD2 Cyber-shot Station For Sony T300, T70, W170, W150 and W120 Digital Cameras (Electronics)
I have a Sony W150 digital camera and after I bought this Cyber-shot station I do not need my video camera anymore. By using the remote control I can watch videos in full screen on my TV and watch my pictures.

This Cyber-shot station does not give the camera extra functionality, but it is much easier with the remote control and also easier to plugin the camera to the station than using the cable.

Even, it is a little expensive I would recommend buying this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for your Sony Cyber Shot, November 1, 2009

This review is from: Sony CSS-HD2 Cyber-shot Station For Sony T300, T70, W170, W150 and W120 Digital Cameras (Electronics)
I first saw this Cyber Shot station at my sister in laws and knew right then I had to have this unit. It was very easy to hook up to the TV set and I chose one set in the bedroom where I could leave the station permanently. The hardest part was locating one which I found on a Amazon seller's list. It works excellent and has built in sound which when viewing a long series of slides is excellent. The quality is excellent for the unit and the pictures. I have experienced some skipping on the sound thus the reason for the n4 rating. I don't think it is the unit but rather me. Once I get the hang of all the features I feel this "skipping" will go away. I highly recommend it ans would purchase the unit again if I did not have one. Finding one may be a problem. The unit has a base plate which slides across the bottom and thus permits a host of different Sony cameras to use this unit.

I'm pleased with the convenience provided by the cyber shot station..but, was disappointed that I couldn't connect it to my sony brand TV using HDMI cables. Part of my logic with going with all Sony equipment was to obtain seamless operation, something I don't get due to the lack of state of the art connecting cable. Otherwise, this is yet another great Sony product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sony Cyber-Shot CSS-HD2, January 6, 2009

This little clever Sony unit has expanded my enjoyment of my Sony DSC-T300 Digital Camera photos. When placed on the Cyber-Shot Station the Remote Commander included offers a number of ways that allows you to view photos, including through your TV. Of special note: the Station will charge the battery pack inside the camera faster than the camera supplied charger. I would definitely recommend this handy little device and it's well worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, January 19, 2009

This review is from: Sony CSS-HD2 Cyber-shot Station For Sony T300, T70, W170, W150 and W120 Digital Cameras (Electronics)
While it's great for viewing and showing pictures from the camera it's really great for reviewing pictures to determine which ones to delete and which ones need further processing like red-eye reduction or cropping. You do have to use the camera controls to perform those functions. The docking station only views pictures. It has no features to operate the cameras menu operations. You can delete bad pictures while they are displayed by simply clicking the delete button on the camera while it is in the docking station. However you do have to remove the camera from the station to peform image edits, like red-eye reduction. But being able to see the images in large format, in order to determine which ones are good, bad, or need work, is quite convenient. It does have a remote control to move between pictures. For someone who doesn't have a computer handy to do those things, it is indispensable. Not to mention that it also charges the camera batteries without having to remove the battery from the camera like with the charger that came with the camera. So I'd say it is a very useful accessory to have.
