5.0 out of 5 stars Only an a/c outlet is better!
Features 30% more stamina than the NP-F960 rechargeable battery pack.

I bought this AFTER spending half a day shooting with a Sony FX1 in very cold weather with my NP-F960 battery. Between the pausing and occasional power down, the battery survived this bitter cold day with LOTS of juice left over. So imagine what this NP-F970 can do for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Item from PERIDIGM is COUNTERFEIT!!!
The reason this item from Peridigm is so much cheaper is because it is counterfeit. The packaging looks legitimate, it even has a hologram, but when you go to open the plastic clam shell packaging, it opens easily without scissors and the plastic is much thinner. The Sony logo uses a slightly different font in a slightly different color. If I didn't have 8 others, I...

I have the NP-F960 clone battery, and it isn't holding a charge as good in storage.

My only beef is waiting for it to fully charge. If you are a serious videographer, or use the Sony HVL20DW2 20 watt video light, this is a definite "must have".

1.0 out of 5 stars Item from PERIDIGM is COUNTERFEIT!!!, July 5, 2011

The reason this item from Peridigm is so much cheaper is because it is counterfeit. The packaging looks legitimate, it even has a hologram, but when you go to open the plastic clam shell packaging, it opens easily without scissors and the plastic is much thinner. The Sony logo uses a slightly different font in a slightly different color. If I didn't have 8 others, I wouldn't have known. Putting it up next to my legitimate ones, it's easy to spot the fake. The real giveaway was when my Sony battery charger refused to charge it and my Sony camcorder wouldn't recognize it and refused to power on. Fortunately Amazon didn't have any problem giving me a refund. I will be spending a little extra and buying from a reputable company like BH.

For a large camcorder like my Sony FX7 this adds nice rear "ballast" for balance and EIGHT HOURS taping time! I use it for long shoots and the small one that comes with the cam for short home stuff.

The battery lasts about 1/2 hour. Please do not waste your money with these people as this is definitely a counterfeit battery.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you need to be out all day, this works, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Sony NPF970 L Series Camcorder Battery for the DCRVX2100, HDRFX1, HDRFX7, HD1000U & HVRZ1U (Electronics)
300 plus minutes of recording time (without LCD). I still got several hours with the LCD, backlight on.

For when you are out all day, this is a good long lasting battery.

On the HDR-FX1 I found it preferable to the smaller and lighter battery as it helped provide a touch extra rear weighting. That helped balance when using the camcorder at hip height for me. I can't say I noticed the extra weight as an issue when using at shoulder height, though I didn't have it on my shoulder for long periods at a time.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a DEADBEAT!!!!, August 21, 2011

This review is from: Sony NPF970 L Series Camcorder Battery for the DCRVX2100, HDRFX1, HDRFX7, HD1000U & HVRZ1U (Electronics)
The battery looks genuinely good, and came on time, as advertised. Unfortunately that's about all the POSITIVES I have for this product. I bought 2. One would not fully charge and lasted all of 10 minutes. The other charged pretty well, an hour or so for what my charger indicated was good for about 10 hours of use. Everything seemed normal during shooting and then the battery just inexplicably conked out after 30 minutes. Zalapini sent me a replacement and guess what? No good either. Don't be deceived by the looks of these batteries. They're impostors!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars It is a fake, July 28, 2011

This product is an horrible fake.
An original battery usually lasts around 3 hours and a little bit up.
This one only lasts less than one hour.
And incredibly it costs almost the same price than the original.
Trash

1.0 out of 5 stars Batteries no good, July 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sony NPF970 L Series Camcorder Battery for the DCRVX2100, HDRFX1, HDRFX7, HD1000U & HVRZ1U (Electronics)
I bought these for my Sony FS100. I purchased three of them for good measure. As soon as they arrived they appeared to be in Sony packaging, but on closer inspection the Son'y label was different from the original batteries I had already. When I charged each of them for over a day I figured they were done. When I placed them in the camera it stated that the batter was at 86%. I thought it was a joke, so I placed them back on the charger and when it was charged again put them back into the camera... 87%. All three of them could not hold a charge. I used them in the field and when it was around 50% the battery died... all 3 of them. If this was a problem with one I could expect that, but combining the labeling with how they charged and performed, fake!

1.0 out of 5 stars Counterfeited Battery received from "Peridigm, Inc.", June 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sony NPF970 L Series Camcorder Battery for the DCRVX2100, HDRFX1, HDRFX7, HD1000U & HVRZ1U (Electronics)
The battery I received looked in every way like the original Sony battery, and it worked really well for the first five times I used it. But during shooting one day the camcorder didn't turn on all of a sudden and fortunately, the other battery worked fine. I took the battery to a Sony repair shop, and they told me that this is a counterfeit battery.

There are replacement battery for f970 of other brands at a lower price, but this is a different issue - it costs $100, with "Sony" printed on it, and is complete scam. I didn't mean to slander the responsible sellers with such accusation, but "Predigm, Inc." is NOT a responsible seller.

1.0 out of 5 stars Total fake - dangerous, January 10, 2012

Don't buy this if it's not actually SOLD by Amazon, but by Peridigm. Just received two knock-offs today. They don't work with the infoLithium system to give run-time info and they get REALLY hot when charging. Our true Sony batteries which cost only $2 more each, run slightly warm and give real runtime info. For $2 more buy the real thing. These are fakes. Amazon should remove Paradigm as a seller.
