The Sony VPL-HS2 multimedia projector broadcasts images on screens from 40 to 150 inches in size, letting users view big-budget Hollywood films in their full glory. The projector includes such features as a 16:9 wide VGA aspect ratio, which broadcasts widescreen movies at their intended resolution, and CineMotion, which automatically converts film content via the 3:2 pulldown process to deliver more accurate, smoother-looking DVD images. The projector's Side Shot 2 digital keystoning also lets users align the picture horizontally and vertically on the screen with the press of a button, so people don't have to locate the device precisely in the center of the room to enjoy a complete picture.

The projector's ultra-sharp resolution derives from its single lens projection system, which transfers an 858 x 484 picture across its three WVGA LCD panels for a total of 1,245,816 pixels (1.2 megapixels). Viewers will also appreciate the projector's versatile broadcast facility, with the ability to accept 480i and 480p broadcast signals along with HD-compatible 1080i and 720p modes.
