5.0 out of 5 stars Best Electronic Device I have ever had.
I bought this amazing product about three weeks ago. I previously had a KOSS mp3 player and after a week, and not being able to return it, I threw it away. So then I decided that I did not want a complicated MP3 playback CD-Player that was prone to failure, and I purchased the D-E350 from Best Buy. I have never had a single problem with it. At risk of breaking from the norm, I've had my Sony CD player for several months now, and have some serious misgivings. The version I purchased was a really nice blue shade, and like most other reviews here, I had a similar experience. It looks nice, it plays fine, no pause button, but these are things I can live with. Most of all the price was great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Electronic Device I have ever had., May 7, 2002
This review is from: Sony D-E350 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
I bought this amazing product about three weeks ago. I previously had a KOSS mp3 player and after a week, and not being able to return it, I threw it away. So then I decided that I did not want a complicated MP3 playback CD-Player that was prone to failure, and I purchased the D-E350 from Best Buy. I have never had a single problem with it. It has amazing sound, very very long battery life, never skips and looks great. It plays all my cd's, including CD-RW's, even badly scratched ones.

Unlike the cheaper cd-players, this one comes with Great Headphones. Not the kind you would expect bundeled with a cd-player. I have been using it for three weeks, and I have only had to change the batteries once. I just can't get over how great a player this is. I HIGHLY recommend this cd-player to EVERYONE!

After several months use the price and color no longer mean anything to me. This is my first Sony CD player and the first to wear out in this short span of time. The headphone jack is poorly constructed and flickers and pops regularly. I even convinced myself that I had mistreated the headphones and bought a new set of (Sony) headphones. The problem persisted and as far as I can tell the source is in the headphone jack. Wiggling and rotating the headphones helps, but I'm not sure how long these will last.
One could argue that I, the user, have misused the device, however I've owned two other Panasonic CD players previously, and both, although more expensive, lasted very nicely before needing to be retired.
Another major problem is the bass. I first assumed this was due to cheap headphones, but even with a brand new pair of very nice headphones (again, Sony) the bass rattled and popped. The highest bass level is really useless if you want any sound quality at all.
Next time I will for sure save up a little money and buy another panasonic. I've not had a complaint over their products as long as I can remember.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best for only $50, May 27, 2002

I had previously bought a JVC XLPG51. It was good, and still is, but I had a problem with skipping. I looked at other players that had no skipping, but they were expensive. Then I saw this product in a [local] ad. It looked like a good product, and it was under $50, so I bought it.

First of all, there was no problem with skipping. I hit it during play, and it did not skip. Next, there was impressive battery life. I used nearly dead batteries when I first used this unit, and I still got about 2 hours of life. If you use full batteries, you can get 33 hours of life!(that's what Sony says. I haven't used this unit that long.)The headphones are nice, they're not what you expect from a CD player for this much, but they're uncomfortable over time.

Overall, this is very good.

It's the coolest cd player ever. ... you get an awesome looking cd player with great sound. The anti-skip protection is better than anything I've ever seen anywhere else! It fits into any of my pant pockets and the headphones are really cool. This is the best value you'll ever find, trust me.

This cd player is just awsome. It looks and works great. I get compliments on it all the time because of how good it looks. It runs like a dream. Don't get fooled by getting a cheap cd player by some other company. Get this sony cd player.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, but missing a key feature, September 7, 2002

This cd player is great, but it is missing a key feature....The "PAUSE" button. What the [heck] did Sony do with it? They left the volume limiting system on, which i have yet to use on the 3 Sony cd players i have owned over the last 6 years. The closest thing to pause is the "resume" function, where u hit "STOP" and then hit "PLAY" again, wait 5 seconds, and your music will resume from where u hit stop. I find it hard to believe that Sony would intentionally get rid of such a key feature, but im no expert. Other than that small flaw, this Walkman is amazing. It looks good (I have the radium gold model), sounds great, and comes with the street style headphones that wrap around the back of your head. Those headphones alone are almost [price]. Overall, this is a great unit and i recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD Player I Have Ever Owned, May 12, 2003
This review is from: Sony D-E350 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
This is the best CD player I have ever owned. This CD player has never skipped I can jump on my trampoline with it and it still won't skip.I have dropped it on the bus once and it still didn't skip. People have been complaing about a pause button not being there, but it doesn't really matter, I mean you stop it and then press play and then 1 and a half sec. later it starts back up. As for the sound, better than some stereos. The volume goes up to 9 but there are 3 levels on each number so it is actually 27. The headphones that come with it are the greatest, they are so good I can have it on level 9 durong silent reading and the teacher doesn't hear. This an overall stupendous CD player and it is worth at least $100. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality, September 21, 2006

I bought this CD player about 5 years ago, and it's still going in great condition. I don't use it on a very regular basis, which is probably one of the reasons it's lasted so long. My brother, however, can break anything he gets his hands on, and he had one that lasted for at least three years. He used it nearly every day. He dropped it more times than I can count, stepped on it, and broke the top cover off, and it still played perfectly without skipping. Even when you run with it it doesn't skip. I like the Hold function, which allows you to stick it in a backpack without the buttons getting pushed and changing your settings. I have never had trouble with the headphone jack, and neither did my brother. There's no pause button, but when you press Stop it remembers where you were and starts there again, so it's basically the same thing. Overall, I would highly reccomend this CD player.
