5.0 out of 5 stars Who would have thought?
This summer, I was telling my eleven-year old niece that it would be nice to have a cd and fm walkman in one. She looked at me like I was so out of it and told me it already existed.
Well, you know Sony would be responsible! I absolutely love my walkman!! I have owned several models over the years and the more Sony builds, the better they become. This model does not...

1.0 out of 5 stars Is Unbelieve
Is the worst cd player that I've ever used, the sound is bad and the volume control don't have enough balance, and the FM tuner is very noisy, really, all the walkman is very noisy, You must to use the line-out to hear it without noise, Please don't buy

5.0 out of 5 stars Who would have thought?, September 17, 2001
This review is from: Sony D-FJ61 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
This summer, I was telling my eleven-year old niece that it would be nice to have a cd and fm walkman in one. She looked at me like I was so out of it and told me it already existed.
Well, you know Sony would be responsible! I absolutely love my walkman!! I have owned several models over the years and the more Sony builds, the better they become. This model does not skip at all and mine has been through the gym and on hikes! When you get tired of the disc, you just switch over to the tuner. You have the option to program stations (not a new feature of course) and they come in crystal clear. I just love the option, especially when you are planning on extended use.
Very durable as usual and a nice strap to slip over your hand for easy/secure handling.
Sony equates quality!

5.0 out of 5 stars UNBREAKABLE...., January 9, 2002

This review is from: Sony D-FJ61 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
This CD player was the first that I bought. I was just getting into music (I'm just 14) and my mom was begging me to get one instead of always using the stereo. So, I just went and got this one. It has been dropped on the school cafeteria floor, the wood at my house, the sidewalk, and the worst thing that happened after all those falls was the batteries flyed out. It plays great, and the battery life is great, too. (about 10 hours). I have had it for a year and a half, and it still works like a charm. The radio feature is great too. I listen to Q101 all the time. Be warned: THIS CD PLAYER TURNED ME INTO A COMPLETE METALHEAD!!! BUT THATS NOT BAD... ITS VERY GOOD!!! Awesome CD player, strongly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD Player, September 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony D-FJ61 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
This Sony is what a personal CD player should be. It's not much larger than a CD, has an excellent digital tuner, and incredible sound, combined with the Sony "G-Protection" which translates into NO skipping. The previous reviewer is correct about the headphones, if you want to get the best out of this player pick up a pair of ear buds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best, March 11, 2003

This is the best cd player I know of, meaning the best you can get without going broke. Everyone at school knows that if you're going to get a cd player, get this one. It doesn't skip, no matter what. I've heard stories of people kicking it, dropping it, stepping on it and even falling off a bike with it and having it never skip. I highly recommend this cd player.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, ive never had a better one, December 13, 2001

I have never had problems with this cd player, and i abuse my cd players:) it has a wrist holder-thing, so i dont drop it as much, which helps, but if i do drop it, it does not cause any damage.. maybe something comes loose if its dropped hard enough, but i snap it back and its fine. this cd player has only skipped on me once, in 12 months, and it was low on batteries at the time. not to mention, the batteries last forever. i use it at least an hour every day, if not more, and the batteries do not need to be replaced for upwards of a month.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-have for students, August 19, 2001
This review is from: Sony D-FJ61 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
This CD player is wonderful if you are a high school or college student constantly on the go. It will not skip, even under the worst shaking conditions. The styling is sleek and simple. It is just slightly bigger than the size of a CD. The FM/AM tuner capability is also wonderful for when you might get bored of the CD you have, or forget to grab a CD altogether. The hand strap it comes with is very handy, and so is the AC adapter. Perhaps the best feature of this product is that it doesn't use batteries very fast. I have been using it for 2 months now, average 10 hours a week, and the 2 batteries I put in when I bought it still haven't been used up completely. The headphones, however, aren't very good. I would recommend picking up a pair of Sony earbuds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unstoppable!, October 5, 2004

This "CD walkman" is so awsome! Besides having a build in AM/FM tunner it has the best skip protection I've ever seen. To test it, I opened the lid and stuck a toothpick in the slot next to the lach to make the player think the lid is closed, and once the CD started playing, I stopped the CD from spinning, but the music continued to play for almost a full minute! I've droped mine a dozen times and it still works fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD Player, May 12, 2002
This review is from: Sony D-FJ61 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
I LOVE THIS CD PLAYER!!! It is virtually unbreakable and skip free. It also remembers the last track and the time of the track when you press play after having listened to the radio. The only minor complaint i have is that the radio reception is occasionally a little rough.....but that is normal for all radios. I love it and especially recommed it to high schoolers who may br a little harsh on their cd players. GET IT!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome CD player., August 8, 2002
This review is from: Sony D-FJ61 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
I had this CD player and broke it somehow, and for months refused to buy another one till I found this again. It can withstand lots of things, I dropped it so so many times (and no, that wasn't how it broke!) and it just kept playing as if perfect. I've been through a lot with this CD player and still, it went on. It's got a radio that doesn't eat your batteries, so that's a definite added plus. If you're looking for a portable that works wonders -- this is it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product......One question, February 21, 2002

This review is from: Sony D-FJ61 Portable CD Player (Electronics)
This is a great product. This is my first discman, it never skips, the fm/am radio is great, very compact, not much wider than a CD. Great battery life. Can't go wrong with this. I do have one question, this player has a plug for a remote, does anyone know where I can get one or which Sony models of discman remotes are compatible with this? I searched everywhere on the web, nothing. Sony's website doesn't have anything either. Some help please!
