So thin and lightweight, that you forget that it's a CD player! With a good set of headphones, you can enjoy high quality sound with deep bass. Includes MP3, a built-in micro-equalizer, and recharger. Probably the best CD walkman I've owned so far, well worth every penny!

First off, I'm not a negative person who picks on every little things and complains about it. This IS infact my first time writing a review with less than 5 stars. I just had to tell the people who intend to buy this CDP by its attractive appearance and ATRAC3 technology etc. Well, this thing does not play about 1/4 of my audio CDs! 1/4 is ALOT out of my huge collection of recordings. I mostly have complete opera recordings and classical recordings that are often "made in Germany" and other forgein countries. I don't know if this is to do with the difficulty of playing back. It is just unbelievable and total dissapointment! Secondly, I found it skips quiet frequently or makes buzzy sounds that seems like connection problem on headphone jack. This thing is VERY thin that is made of pearl white(although they say it is silver, it is more like peark white!) plastic material and it feels little frigile. I understand that in order to reduce its physical size, Sony eliminated LCD on the CDP body! This IS a big~ flaw! You certainly have to rely on remote otherwise you have no freakin idea which track you are on and you cannot adjust functions and more! What if the remote brokes which happens fairly easy! Remote itself is sort of hard to find and if you do find them, it is EXPENSIVE! Also Sony's ATRAC3 technology is only for PC which means it is NOT compatible with Mac. Okay...That sould be enough to say about its down side BUT yes...it is true that this CDP is very thin and cool but seriously, that's pretty much I could think of. I'd highly recommand you to buy much cheaper CDPs from Sony OR Panasonic that is much simpler and less frigile even though they are abit bigger than this one. I hope you save your money!

I have owned several portable CD players, mainly because I enjoy listening to audio books while I work around the house and yard. When my last player broke down, I was determined to make my next purchase my last! I found the perfect player in this model. I do not use MP3 players because I like to use the resources at our local library. This is the thinnist, lightest portable player I have ever seen and it is extremely comfortable. Heavier models can be a real drag, not so with the ATRAC3.

I'm so glad I didn't let negative comments put me off getting one of these. I wasn't even looking for a CD player but couldn't resist a metallic blue discounted item. My previous player was a D345 and I was worried about the European level limit. Well the supplied headphones are useless. Chrome trim doesn't make them better than any others. Standard Sony in ear headphones improved things with some bass heaviness. I did find that I sometimes had to turn the volume right up. Then I read about Sonys new top of the range in ear headphones with the the super large diaphram. I noticed that on paper they had greater sensitivity (higher volume). I tell you, the combination of these headphones and this player are fantastic. They sound completely different tonally to the cheaper ones. I have had 5 months of non stop pleasure listening to all sorts of music with this combo and never run out of volume - even with my hearing. I see people walking around with home headphones on and I think - why? Complaints? SACD playback should have been included in a top of the range Sony product. Also the remote really is awful. There are so many stupid design flaws, it is practically impossible to operate it with one hand because the volume and track changes are both heavily sprung and close together. Grip on the track changer is almost none existent. And when you are trying to change track or volume you often catch many of the other buttons. Keylock? Of course but you cant find it easily when you are on the go.
Nevertheless this is an amazing player with the look and feel being something really special in a consumer item.

Hi guys this cd/mp3 player is not for those who are looking for cheap things, remember great quality product at some price , this is the most advance and the most beautiful cd/mp3 player ever made by sony , once u hear it and have it then only u can feel how good it is . there is no doubt abt sony sound quality. Its the best when u hear on this device, but yes this is also an expensive product , only serious music person go for it
