Displays good, sounds good (for its size) and overall works as you'd expect from Sony.

It can, however, be set to turn on and off for each hour in the day independently.

I've had this frame for a week and it worked great out of the box. I was up and running within minutes with photos loaded easily, direct from my computer. The little remote is very handy and comes with a battery which I am very happy about because I'm not sure how to open it. I really like the slide show setting of "Time Machine" -- at first I thought it showed the current date and time in the bottom right corner, but it actually shows the date and time the photo was taken, which is WAY cooler! The frame is programmable so you can make it turn on and off automatically any time you want. I love it!

This is such a wonderful frame. Wonderful, bright colors, very easy to set up, and we love the internal memory! We'll probably buy more for family presents in the future. My husband keeps it on his desk at work and gets comment after comment on what a great frame it is.

The Sony digital picture frame has a usefully bright image and, as advertised in its specs, erects the images. Its programming interface is adequate, but only just so. The on/off time can be set only in one hour increments (or, at least, I could not divine how to set it to turn on as, say, 7:30). It can, however, be set to turn on and off for each hour in the day independently. It appears to be well made. All in all, I would buy it again.

As many reviewers have stated, this is a nice photo frame. Displays good, sounds good (for its size) and overall works as you'd expect from Sony.
My only gripe is with the function menu. I feel it could be a bit easier to use, especially if it is going to a non-digital-aged user. My shining example of this would be the ability to Stop a slideshow, and then RESTART the slideshow again, with one button... the `Enter' button. You can Stop-Restart a video clip by alternately pressing the remotes `Enter' button. But, you cannot do this function while playing a slide show. You have to add an additional button to reselect the slideshows `Display Style', then the `Enter' button to fire the slideshow back up. Maybe a minor complaint, otherwise I'd highly recommend the D820.

This digital frame has everything that I wanted: clear picture, 4:3 dimension, auto on/off setting, large internal memory, and good price. It was a present for my mom during Christmas, and she has loved it. I looked at other products before buying this one. If you want something with a quality test and last a long time, this frame is for you.

I've found, for the most part, it's definitely a huge thumbs up. Here's why:

GOOD
- clear, fine images; true color
- I enjoy the audio; seems true and not muffled or tinny to me
- manual is fairly easy to understand
- I enjoy the videos which are also clear
- choices of calendar, or clock with 1 photo or with slideshow
- really like the collage choice
- like the idea that the image is "automatically sized" depending on how you're setting the frame up, ie, horizontally or vertically
- like the choice of size of thumbnails if you're looking for a particular photo
- if using a flashdrive, can't see it; does not stick out beyond the frame
- remote works well with it; I don't have to click a button twice or more to get it to do what I'm requesting it to

NOT SO GOOD
- even though the manual is clear, I wish it would have mentioned that it plays ONLY MP3s for audio (I had to look this up online)
- I would have liked to have had choices in the transitions between photos - ie, blinds, vanish, et al
- would be nice if it could ALSO be portable, ie, run on batteries
- in searching for a particular photo, it'd be nice if there was a way to view the group of thumbnails, and then click on an arrow, like you're turning to the next page rather than having to move to the last photo of that page

I do not know how it works with respect to downloading photos to it. Frankly, I didn't want to fiddle with that nonsense plus have more "stuff" on my desktop taking up room on my computer, so I took the easy way out and purchased a flashdrive. Works great. Admittedly, though, I am impressed with amount of room given if you do choose to go that route - 2GB.
