Sony DPF-X1000 10.2-Inch Digital Photo Frame

I got this one rather than the V1000 because, as the "fancier" model, it would hopefully have the best possible display. This was my goal, to get the frame with the best possible display, as I'm into photography and that's important to me. If you're into using Photoshop and Lightroom and color-managed workflow and displays, you can be confident that this frame is . . .uh . .. AWESOME! Even though you can't profile it like you would a monitor, I was VERY pleasantly surprised with it's out-of-the-box display characteristics. Like others have commented re the other Sony models, the color balance is just a tiny bit cool, but the resolution is stunning, the contrast is stunning, the blacks are black and the whites are white. Just remember to turn off the "auto-fix-your-image" settings if you've finessed your image already and want it displayed accurately, without any "improvements."

I haven't run into the "baseline jpgs only" problem yet, which means, apparently, that Lightroom outputs baseline jpgs. So if you're going to export pics from Lightroom to your card for the frame, you don't have to worry about it, they'll work.

I was really blown away by the screen quality, actually, because this is my first digital frame; the "glowing LCD" factor makes this about 20x nicer to set on my desk at work and display pictures than any print, no matter how nicely printed and lit.

The frame's features are adequate for what I want (simple slideshow going all day on my desk). The only complaint I have isthat there is no slide duration between 5 minutes and 30 minutes . . . (15 would have been nice).

I looked at all the frames at Frys abd Best Buy. The Sony SFrames had the deepest blacks and the whitest whites and photos really pop. Storage is plenty and file transfer and management all nicely done.

The slide show/view functions are great - clocks, calendars, when it was shot etc - but amazingly when you set it on "Random picture" and 'Random view" you see what seems like another hundred variations of layouts/calendars/scrapbook backgrounds not shown in the menu or the manual.

Drawbacks: doesn't play video. Expensive.

I think this digital photo frame is great. The quality is excellent and the set up is easy. I can easily navigate through the features. I had a bunch of baby pictures scanned for my daughters graduation, downloaded to a flash drive and I just plugged it in and let it play. The images were crystal clear. I highly recommend this product.

Super Product. Researched and tried several e-frames, including the SONY 9-inch S-Frame, but this one is simply excellent. Easy to use, lots of functionality and options. The 9" screen was nice, but the difference between the 9 and 10 inch screen is worth the price difference. It's nice that you can turn off the SONY logo, quickly change display choices, the frame has a nice finish, and even the CreativeEdit functionality is simple to use. You'll not get board with this unit, and just about anyone should be able to use it and figure it out.

I am very happy with my Sony 10.2-inch electronic photo frame I purchased for my Mother at Christmas. I loaded over 1,000 photos onto the internal memory and I also inserted a SD Memory card into the frame with another 2,500 photos on it. I spoke with her on the phone today and asked how she liked her picture frame and she said it was the 'center of attention' during lunch each day at her house. They own a large ranch and feed the workers lunch each day and many of the photos on the frame were taken of everyday life on the ranch which includes all the workers. She said everyone absolutely loves it! I chose the Sony 10.2-inch frame because I wanted a name brand frame with a large picture. There were larger frames out there but they looked cheesy or had a 'made-in-the-garage' look to them. It also looks very stylish. It is sleek and substantial at the same time. On Christmas Eve, after everyone had opened their presents, I connected the frame to my Parent's Flat-Screen HD TV and the entire family sat there entranced by the large, crystal-clear images on their TV. It was spectacular! My Dad even said, "Now that was a wonderful way to end the evening". It is easy to use and the remote control gives you the power to easily pause and/or go back when you want to. It is certainly worth the price!

I purchased this digital frame as a Christmas present for my husband. He was very specific about wanting a frame that showed pictures in very good quality. He has been very impressed with the images and the features. The larger size of the frame makes it possible to display the calendar/time feature without sacrificing the picutures. He is very pleased with this frame.

Although I expected much of this Sony Digital Photo Frame it didn't disappointed me. I'm very pleased with my new Digital Photo Frame.

This digital photo frame is absolutely supercalifragilisticexpedaliouscious! My only suggestion is that Sony make the image area larger, without such a thick border. I'd like to see the images cover most of the entire surface. Unlike other digital photo frames, the detail is deffinately HD and the back light is wonderful as well as adjustable. Some other models fail to reproduce good detail and many make images look darker with washed-out colors. The Sony is awesome - just like reviewing the photos on my computer or a printed version. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for the customer who is detail oriented and appreciates great HD photos.

Our photos look great in the frame. Directions are a little hard to follow and the remote is really small--with I could find it! Kind of labor intensive to load pix into different folders. Ultimately, though, the photos look great!

This frame is great. Got it for Christmas last year and have enjoyed it!!! Great after a vacation to display your pictures or to use for a special event. :)
