Great bluetooth headphones for the price.,

I almost didn't get these because of some of the negative reviews that they received here on Amazon (if you look at the black pair they aren't reviewed very well) but I ultimately got them anyway because I couldn't stand the way my Logitech freepulses and Sony MDR-V150's hurt my ears anymore. I was pleasantly surprised to find that most of the other reviewer's complaints were unfounded when I finally received mine.
To start off I will say that I am a large man with a large head (24" circumference just above the ears) and I find these headphones to be very comfortable and they don't come off when I shake my head around. They did fall off once though when I did a violent full body sneeze but I imagine any pair of headphones would have. I use mine mostly at work while I'm messing around in the lab and also while I walk to and from work which is about a 2.5 mile round trip and they are much more comfortable and have better sound quality than either of my current headphones (Logitech Freepulse's and Sony MDR-V150's). I wouldn't recommend these for jogging or the gym though and I don't believe they were designed for that purpose. Earbuds are a much better choice even with the cord. I have used them with my MacBook Pro, iMac, and iPod Touch and they have worked well with all of these devices except for the fact that the pause, fast forward, and reverse buttons don't seem to work with the iPod Touch but given past experience with Apple I doubt this is Sony's fault. I have also used these with Skype on my iMac and they worked great. As a side note, I took the padded earpieces off of my Sony MDR-V150's and put them on these headphones over the regular pads and that made them even more comfortable, and slightly more attractive in my opinion.

Love these headphones. Sound quality is OK, not audiophile grade but for the price and the fact there are no wires to deal with, I highly recommend these.
Paired with my Laptop at work, now I can enjoy music that all day. The battery typically lasts through 2 days. There are controls on the headphone to pause, change tracks. Which is pretty awesome!! The headband is kind of big, but I dont have any of the issues where it slipped as few others reviewers have said. Totally love these. Also paired these with my cellphone, love the fact that now I can enjoy music and take my calls using these. They also pause the song anytime a call comes in. The best part is it simultaneously works with my laptop and cellphone. Anytime a call comes in its stop the music and allows me to take calls from the phone.

to start, i have used ALOT of headphones. the main thing i wondered, as i nervously waited for these headphones in the mail, was "will these sound good? will they feel ok? (since many reviews stated they fall off easily or feel like they will) will it work with the ipod touch/iphone 3.0 update? will i need a bluetooth adapter as well to use these? i have other good sony headphones, but some were tinny or had mediocre bass. how will these hold up?
like other reviews have stated, this is not an "audiophile" set. you really will get good sound and ok bass. not deep, but adequate. the volume is decent, but these are not noise canceling. i can only equate the sound to a similar set of Sony's, my Sony MDR-G74SL Street Style Headphones. clear, crisp, full range of high's medium range of low's. so that being said, i am highly satisfied. the construction is like that of earmuffs. just big enough to cover my ears at 2 1/2 inches wide. it's 9 degrees out as i'm writing this and they really do help keep my ears warm. the do not feel like they will fall off my head. i have thick but straight hair combed down. so no hair is keeping them on and i have an average sized head. they can be extended much further than i have them set and they feel fine. they will not work well and will fall off if you like having the band at the back of your neck instead of on your head. but they feel fine and comfortable. the most important question: will i need an adapter on my ipod touch to listen to this bluetooth headset? NO. it will hook up with your ipod's blue tooth (3.0 update required) once you turn it on and sync it. overall i have to say it's an awesome set. using my ipod touch i listen to music, play games, and watch movies with these. equilibrium and iron man were great on my ipod with these. they will not block out all ambient noise if in a loud place, so be prepared to lose some dialog of movies. the connection to multiple devices is really cool. i'm listening to music and i receive a call. it's fun to talk to someone in stereo. the mic is really great. no loss in sound when talking. i can walk across most of my apartment and still talk with no loss. ringer differs with the phone you use. i cannot stress enough that these are NOT noise canceling. the outside world WILL make it past whats playing. they are above average wireless headphones. but they are good, comfortable, easily paired with ipod touch, phone, ps3 (communication only with ps3, won't play music or game sounds) and have a nice range in sound. i own Ear Force X4 Dolby Digital Wireless (Headphones). these will knock your sock off. but they are infrared. not bluetooth. the sony DRBT101 headphones will serve for the person on the go. who doesn't like all the wires, and can charge the headphones once or twice a week. sometimes not even that much.they really are comparable to Sony MDR-G74SL Street Style Headphones. overall i am not only satisfied with these headphones, i recommend them.

Standby lasts for a few days on it if you turn it off when you are not using it.
Voice quality is incredible. I can talk on the phone while I am doing dishes or driving in my car with the windows open and radio on and whoever I am talking to has no trouble hearing me. As some mentioned, it does not sit on your head all that firmly. And I can't imagine why on earth they designed the over the head strap to attach to the outside of the earcups rather then the inside or at least the middle. The end result is hideously geeky looking and as mentioned, not all that secure sitting on yrou head. But if form follows function, they are as good as you can find nowadays. I returned a pair of samsungs after one day because they made my ears hurt so badly for hours after I took them off. But I can wear these all day with no discomfort at all. I just wouldn't go jogging or something like that with them on.

I liked it for its sound and mic, until I tried to connect to my iMac (Snow Leopard). It connected once after about the 15th try -- so I know it can. But then I couldn't connect it ever again. Couldn't find anyone to help so I finally gave up and had to be satisfied with only using it with my iPhone 3G. Now that is a real pleasure, since it's always found it and never had to be paired more than once. The battery life is less than expected and the thing is sure ugly on your head (if you take walks like me). But while walking a phone call interrupted my music, which came back on the second I finished talking -- now that's why I like it!

These headphones are functional at a great price. I bought them to use with a new iPod Touch with Bluetooth, and they work great. I was disappointed when my iPod wouldn't recognize the microphone in them (so I can't use voice control, skype, etc.) or the next and back buttons on it. Volume and pause are all you get from the headphones (with an iPod). I sometimes have to press the pause button twice to get it to respond, but it's not a big deal. That being said, it's awesome to be able to listen to your music wirelessly, and for such a great price ($50!). I am pleased that it will connect with my cellphone and iPod at the same time, so if I'm listening to music on my iPod and someone calls, the music will fade, I can answer from the headset, and when I hang up, the music will automatically resume play. It has a good listening distance, I can be in other offices at work and still get clear music play. I was previously used to an older version of apple's in-ear headphones, and these don't have as good music quality, but it's not unacceptable, and you won't notice it. I also wish that they could fold up or somehow be easier to transport, I fear they would break if I put them in my backpack. That being said, I would definitely recommend these headphones to someone who wants function and low price.

Good sound quality and battery life.
instructions are well explained. Tested succesfully with Skype. Bad point: it isn't so easy to wear the hand-free headphone: if you don't feel it really well attached in your head.

I realy like the sound quility from rap, rock, punk it is all good. Battery life is best I have seen or head about (I used it for about two weeks when I first got for at least two hours a day and on day 16 or 17 I finally had to recharge it). They are comfortable, but they slip off my head sometimes as a lot of people stated, but it normally isn't to bad (having a shaved head doesn't help). Overall very happy.

..them if you have even a remote inclination toward being an 'audiophile.'
That does not mean the sound is terrible. It certainly isn't. But the volume will only go so high. I use them with a MacBook, which..it's true..doesn't have the greatest soundcard/volume boost, but still, on many songs (mostly classical, i listen to a little of everything) i find myself pressing the cups against my ear in order to be able to get more volume, as i've already maxed all the volume options out. If i'd bought the ear buds..i wouldn't have to do that probably! I was looking for something relatively inexpensive but decent. These are. But they are not loud. I just ordered some $150 Sennheisers because i decided i AM a bit of an audiophile..and though i may not WANT to spend $150 on a pair of phones..in the end..it will be well worth it...to get the volume and sound quality i want. These are fine. If i have any gripe with them...it's that the volume is not high enough on a lot of tracks (but is on a good deal). My advice is...if you have even a remote inclination toward being an audiophile and you want something loud, be willing to spend more money.

it does what it has to....
the audio quality is not the best on the market, but hey.. for $40+ is more than enough the bluetooth range is good.. like 10 mts maybe.. the design is pretty, looks like a headphone that a star wars's storm trooper would use ;) the conectivity couldn't be more easy to set... just push a pairing button and enable it on the device you'll use,, that's it. i use them with my LG scarlet 2 HDTV and with my imac. works great... a downside is that you can't use them when is charging (via usb btw)... |
