My wife and I have owned many digital cameras and find this the best one we have ever owned. Apparently it's a new generation. It is so automatic it makes it really easy to use. It automatically detects the photo type you are taking and lets you know - scenery, cuisine, closeup, etc. The smile feature is fun. Face detection with exposure correction really works. It's compact, boots up quickly and has little or no delay when taking a picture. The 12MB picture really captures detail. We love this camera but may buy another brand for my wife when the time comes just because I like to experiment.

I have two other Sony Cyber-shot cameras that I am very happy with so when I needed an extra pocket-sized camera, it was a simple decision. I really like the larger screen on this camera and the simplicity of the settings means less fussing and more point & shoot. In fact, I found myself grabbing this camera more than my old Cyber-shot which has more features.

I only had one issue in three weeks of frequent use. There was a more noticeable delay sometimes when taking pictures and some pictures came out blurry. This mostly occurred when I was taking photographs of stationary aircraft outside in full sunlight so I am not sure why it had difficulty finding the focal point. I would retake the picture seconds later and it would focus just fine. Our conclusion was that it might have been a low battery issue since we had to replace the batteries the next day. However, the low battery indicator did not come on during these issues.

This is a must have if you are a no-hassle camera lover. This is a no frill camera and gives you just what it promises. was impressed with the quick response .. takes a second to save a snap and get ready for the next click ..!!

I won't get into specifics but let me quickly state the Sony DSC-S2100 is great little camera at budget price. I compared it to my sisters Nikon L20 and was amazed at how much better the performance of the Sony was in comparsion to the Nikon. The build seems durable with metal shutter lens cover as opposed to plastic. I guess the one thing I wish it had is a lower f-stop. It will only do 3.1.

It's a Sony...through and through. Bought for my 14 year old son...4th digital camera I've bought in 10 years. Good resolution...great cycle speed. Sturdy construction. Great "snapshot" camera...rugged to deal with a 14 year old beating!

I had the DSC-P92 for year. The menus are nearly the same. The picture brightness varies with pixel choice though. No touchscreen or lithium batteries - less for me to break. Small enough and light enough. Not much zoom, but high pixels (~4.5MB file for 12MP).

It irks me that people write negative reviews and mislead others simply because they like to complain -- when in fact -- they don't know what they're talking about. This camera does indeed have an internal speaker, therefore your video will certainly have sound. Yes, it does not include an SD card -- news flash -- cameras generally don't include them so you can go out and buy the size you want. The camera is great and very affordable. If you want a simple point and shoot camera for every day, compact use -- this camera is excellent. I repeat, very simple to use and excellent quality. Enjoy!

Exellent point and shoot compact digital camera with 3x optical zoom and image stabilizer which creates good picture qualitity for everyday use. Could be made a little smaller and prettier, but for the price just under $100, it is highly recommended.

Simple camera but tries to be very smart. Smile detection is great if your subject stops and poses for you. If you want a spontaneous shot, the settings have to be changed. Goes thru batteries pretty quick. Good camera for the price. Note: you must buy an extra storage card or the camera only takes a couple of pictures, 4G will give you a 1000+ pictures

I bought this camera for my mom who had never had a digital camera of her own - she was still using a 35mm with film....it is easy to use, small enough to take with you anywhere, and takes great pictures! It's great!
