I use this microphone with the noise reduction feature in VERY loud environments. I've done comparisons with loud music in the background and found that the noise reduction not only reduced the lows and highs of the environment's background music but amplified the frequencies that the normal human voice has...giving crisp vocals in a loud environment. If there was a more accurate battery meter on the noise reduction unit...that would be helpful, but the quality of this unit is very high. I have done some product research and have not come across a microphone that has an external noise reduction piece of hardware. They discontinued this model, so I would grab these if you can. Recommended.

Works Nicely! There are a few cheaper alternatives but Sony is a good brand and I think it's worth the price. Convenient to use and ideal for business meetings and maybe useful for lectures as it has Omni-directional Electret Condensor Stereo Microphone for high quality recording. Enhances voice recording by reducing extraneous noises. Comes with rotary holder clip for easy attach on cloth.

This product does'nt work any better than a Microphone I purchased at Radio Shack for $29.95. As a matter of fact Radio Shack worked better. I'm very disapointed in this Sony product.

Ordered one of these for recording a business meeting; it was dead on arrival. (The power light would flash briefly when it was switched on, then nothing.) Asked for a replacement; it was also dead on arrival (same symptoms).
