We bought this microphone to facilitate recording meeting minutes. It works well in a conference room setting w/ say, 10 to 12 people. We connect it to a Dell laptop's microphone jack. Using the mid-boost built into the Sony mic helps a lot. We also use a free version of Audacity software to record the meeting directly to the computer. Audacity allows you to rip it to .mp3 format directly for long term archiving which is very handy. It also makes it easy to distribute minutes widely. The product works well in these conditions and I'd recommend it.

I was very pleased with the Sony ECM-F01 Boundary Effect Microphone. This product works great for the meetings I attend and the clarity and volume are the best. Even though the size of this product is small, the range and pick-up is exceptional. Very good product and a very good price for the features it offers.
