Once I finally got the main unit linked with the sub unit it works great,

Installed this into my STR-DN1000 and tried to link it with a brand new AIR-SA10 and they would just not recognize each other. The wireless strength was zero and the main unit would not pair with the sub. After 30 mins on live chat with Sony they suggested that I unplug the receiver for a minute and try again. Amazingly that worked and the SA10 immediately linked with the receiver without pairing. The install instructions do say to unplug the receiver before installing this transmitter. That is a major deal for me with the way my components are installed into my built-ins, however, it turned out to be the critical missing piece of the puzzle. The instructions don't say 'if you don't do this you will have hours of frustration' so I am writing that here to try to save others from injuring their heads on their walls.. Now that it's working, the total investment for the transmitter and the SA10 seems like a good deal when compared to other wireless speakers available at this time, plus the SA10 allows you to switch between whatever feeds are available on your main unit without walking back to the main unit to change it.

Last year we purchased the Sony DAV-HDX576WF Home theater system with the TA-SA100WR wireless rear speaker amp and AIR-SA10 wireless speaker system. Incredible unit!! However they all came with the EZW-RT10 transmitter. I recently purchased 2 more AIR-SA10 units without the transmitters. Sony's website claims the new T100 cards are compatible with the SA10 units, however they are not!! Apparently when Sony upgraded the AIR-SA10s to accommodate the new transmitter, they didn't bother to change the model number. Bottom line: This transmitter will not fit into a unit originally designed for the EZW-RT10 transmitter. Check your S-Air system carefully before purchasing.

I am using this card with the Sony HTSS370 surround system and the WAHT SA-10 wireless rear surround speaker unit. I am amazed by the sound - it is strong and crystal clear - could not hear a difference from the speakers connected by wire! Awesome product, easy to set up and use. Highly recommended.

Complicated and non-practical solution for wireless sound from Sony,

To get the wireless connectivity for the rear sound, Sony has invented this complicated system of transmitter (this product) and receiver. Poor engineering. it did not work. Even if it did, the receiver is a huge machine that looks just as ugly as having wires. Will wait for something else for wireless speakers.

Although it is a good addition to the surround system to avoid running wires through your living room (if bought with the S-Air receiver), it has one major problem - the device's signal interfers with my cordless phone and WIFI. Currently I have the device turned off most of the time unless I am having a movie night. On the other hand, the quality of the sound is crisp.I do regret purchasing the produced but I hope that Sony can come up with another way of connecting the back speaker wirelessly and avoid interfering with cordless phones and WIFI and have it pre-installed with the surround system.

So I bought a STR DH-800 receiver to go along with my 55" XBR, PS3 and thought what a neat idea to have the SA-10 along with it. So I bought the SA-10 after asking the sales guy if it had the transmitter for the receiver as well................that was a mistake as he told me it did but yet it didn't, well still thinking this was a neat idea but a little upset with Sony nickel and diming me I bought this transmitter for my receiver as it stated in the manual this is what I needed. Well I have messed with, been on the phone for hours with Sony and still can't make the two units work together. We tried everything right down to shuting down my wifi, phne system etc.All in all why I am giving this a bad review is this is a crappy set up. In this day and age of blue tooths etc being so easy to connect and use, why is this system so darn tough to get right? I had read the reviews on the SA10 but I wish I had read the reviews on the transmitter as well. This is a boogus system that is far over complicated for the technology that exists in this day and age. Sony, with other companies making simular systems that are very easy to set up why can't you do the same? Signed Sony user for many years rethinking all of my Sony purchases............................

Very Expensive Device That Could Interfere WiFi Signals,

I thought S-AIR(tm) Digital Wireless technology is one of the best features in Home Theater System but I was dissapointed when there's an interference with other wireless devices. When I turned on my home theater system with this transmitter, I was unable to connect to the internet. My other neighbors also had problems connecting to their router. Sony should test all S-AIR Wireless devices first before selling them.

The product works exactly as advertised. I connected it to my Sony HT-IS100 system, and it works seamlessly with my wireless amplifier for the rear channel speakers. The whole S-AIR concept is very cool, but Sony gets a huge thumbs down for not incorporating this transmitter into their S-AIR-capable products. Forcing the consumer to purchase this add-on is pretty ridiculous.

I bought this to go with my newly purchased Sony STR-DH700 7.1-Channel A/V Receiver (Black). Unfortunately, I didn't know that the transmitter was a separate part when I bought the receiver. I have the Sony AIRSA20PK S-AIR iPod Dock and Digital Wireless speakers which comes with 2 wireless speakers and this transmitter makes them compatible with the receiver. The wireless speakers are also available for individual purchase. I experience slight interference with my wireless internet when the receiver unit is on. I only notice it when I am streaming Netflix movies straight to my TV through my PS3, the movie will stop and buffer frequently.

When I got this item in the mail I was very excited to get it up and running. The trickiest part about getting this working is realizing that the wireless transmitter must be FULLY plugged in to the back of the receiver. For my receiver this required removing 2 screws and then inserting the transmitter. This part was not mentioned in the directions. It actually felt like the transmitter was in the whole way but after turning on the speakers and failing to pair I finally realized the screws needed to be removed. After getting the system working I can tell you the sound was great and being able to switch inputs directly from the speakers was nice. Not having a remote control is a pain though. After 2 days of having the system set up I realized that my wifi and my neighbors wifi's were constantly up and down with the receiver on. I unplugged the wireless transmitter and instantly my wifi came back up. I decided maybe my wifi was simply too weak on the main floor to coincide with the ez wireless so I bought an additional router to boost the signal and it DID NOT help at all. Beware if you have wifi this product may totally interrupt it. My iphone and my laptop could not find the wireless network while the receiver was on however my ipad could. It's very weird. I am sending back the transmitter and the 2 wireless speakers I bought because of the wifi problem. I can't believe there is no way to change the frequency it operates on. This is the first time I have ever had to send back an item I bought online and it made me wish I had bought it in the store. |
