For many years, rechargeable batteries (AAA, AA, C, D) have been very disappointing because they "self-discharge" in a week or two while waiting to be used (or sitting on a store shelf). That's why you must always charge new batteries before using them.
These new Sony batteries finally solve the problem. They self-discharge very slowly, keeping 90% of their charge after a year of storage. I have been using several AAA and AA Sony rechargeable batteries for a month now, and am very pleased and impressed. I only wish that C and D cells were available.

I use these batteries in my digital camera. Got them not long ago, it works a long time in the camera. Longer than my old 900m ones. I use the old 900m ones in my remotes now, those doesn't require as much power usage.
Switched to all rechargeable batteries to be more eco-friendly. Many people still buy the batteries at $0.99 store which lasts very short time and end up as hazard trash. I hope the manufactures can ship the products such as remotes with the rechargeable batteries to promote it.

I purchased the batteries mainly to power my Turtle Beach x4 Wireless headset which sucked a lot of juice. I was tired of spending money on disposable batteries. My sister later tells me i should look at rechargable batteries. After purchase i found that a pair of sony AAA batteries would last me about 14-17 hours of straight gaming. Overall these saved me over $100 of spent batteries.
I highly reccomend this battereies to anybody that uses electronics frequently that accept AAA batteries. They litterally pay for themselves in the long run!

I bought these for a cordless phone that wouldn't hold a charge. The phones now work perfectly and are good for about 5 days without recharging. Priced right too. Highly recommended.

Brown spot looking like leakage around contact,

This review is from: Sony Cycle Energy 800 mAh Pre-Charged AAA Rechargeable Batteries (Electronics)
Had my 4 Sony CycleEnergy AA battery for a little over a year now and have only recharged it 3 times . Most of the time the batteries was in stored in a zip lock bag placed away in a dry place. When I took the Sony batteries out of the zip lock bag today, all had brown spots seeping out near the battery contact area out. I think battery acid is leaking out of the battery. Very poor quality especially if the battery was charged only 3 times and most of the time it wasn't even being used. My other brands of rechargeable was stored in the same bag and had no signs of the problem. It was a waste of money and time since now I have to go out and purchase an alternative replacements.

I needed to replace the rechargeable batteries in one of my portable land line phones. These batteries extended the time the phone can remain off of the charger significantly.

I've been using the orange-colored Cycle Energy version of Sony's rechargeables, but tried these because of their low self-discharge characteristic. They're best-suited for low-drain applications, I assume, such as mice, keyboards, and TV/DVD remotes. They may also work especially well in high-drain, low-duration devices such as LED flashlights or night-lights. Compared with the original version, it appears the user trades off some run-time for improved shelf-life. After less than a month of use, they've performed well.

I've only had these batteries for a few weeks but so far they've been fantastic. I bought them as replacements for the batteries in my cordless phone, which I've been replacing nearly annually for several years as they've worn out. I am hoping that these will last longer but I'm not sure if they will.
These new batteries arrived nearly fully charged and I have had no trouble with them keeping a charge or recharging in the phone. The power has been very consistent, too. Previously, with the batteries I've been using for years, I could use the phone for just over an hour before the batteries would run out of power. So far, I've been able to more than double that usage time with these Sony batteries. I am pleased with them and will be getting more of these batteries to use in remote controls, games, etc.

A few rechargeables can hold a charge before they cause my duracell recharger to blink but even brands like everready that don't blink after repeated charges can't hold a charge. I use the everready batteries on non critical items like cameras but for the mp3 player I use at work to take minutes or the keyboard on this wireless keyboard I use Sony. Yes, I took the trip to Radio Shack. I found they have the worst rechargeable batteries not making more than two charges before causing my charger to blink.
