I had been using a Supertooth Light for a couple of years. That product gets good reviews, but I had a lot of problems with echos. The retractable microphone kept malfunctioning. I didn't want to try the Supertooth 3 based on that experience.
This Sony/Ericsson unit is working very well. It has good sound quality and audible prompts to tell you when it turns on/off and when the phone connects and disconnects. Unlike another reviewer, I like the automatic shutoff because I often forget to turn it off when I leave my car and I like that it shuts itself down. The unit is also much more compact than the Supertooth Light and fits more easily on the visor.

Initial Charging,

The instructions for the HCB-108 say to charge it for 10 hours before the first use but it only comes with a car charger. I don't drive my car for 10 hours straight and when the car is turned off then the battery doesn't charge. I cannot find a separate outlet charger cord.

standby mode not what I thought it would be,

Although the unit does what it's supposed to do the thing that attracted me to it was the 700 hour standby mode. I assumed that once you paired up your phone you just left it alone and the unit would sync back up everytime you got back in your car and all you needed to do was charge it about once a month based on the 700 hour claim. What actually happens is that when you get out of the car and out of range for 10 minutes the unit shuts itself off. Then when you get back into the car you have to manually press the power button to turn it back on and then it syncs automatically. I was hoping to not have to remember to turn it on each time, especially with the 700 hour standby made. At that rate the 700 hours is actually 700 hours of driving time but I'd rather have the convenience of not having to remember to turn it on.
