Amazon.com Product Description

With simple controls, a built-in LCD display and a focus on comfort and style the Sony Ericsson HBH-660 is a must-have for Bluetooth-enabled phones. A quick glance at the headset's "Info Display" lets you know who's calling. You can also make, take, or reject calls with the easy-to-use buttons on the headset.

No matter how fancy or powerful a headset may be, it's not all that useful if it isn't comfortable. Fortunately, the HBH-660 has comfort covered with a lightweight, ergonomic design. The ear loop is flexible enough to fit most ears, yet sturdy enough to keep the HBH-660 in place. When not in use, carry the headset around your neck with the practical strap. And with up to five hours of talk time and up to 150 hours of standby time, you can talk to your heart's content. The HBH-660 can be used with any brand of Bluetooth mobile phone that supports the Headset or Handsfree profiles.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Head"set over heels, May 25, 2005
This review is from: Sony Ericsson HBH-660 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I just got this product after returning a very nice headset from logitech. It really is AWESOME. The logitech was very nice in terms of audio quality, but was a bit heavy and bulky and always felt like it was going to fall off. This unit is feather lite and felt very snug and 'slim' on the ear. The best part though is the audio quality. As good as the logitech was, it does not compare to this product as the volume is very loud so you can actually hear in the car and outdoors. I give it thumbs up...way up even though it's a bit heavy on the wallet.

3.0 out of 5 stars Look Aren't Everything, July 9, 2005

This review is from: Sony Ericsson HBH-660 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I just purchased a Motorola e815 from VZW, and was looking forward to using a bluetooth headset and being free of wires. I thought the caller ID was a great feature, and perhaps worth the premium price. After two hours of wearing the headset, I had to get rid of it.

Pros
Light weight
Great styling
LCD readout
Battery status bar
Easy bonding with my phone
Flawless connection with cell phone voice calling and answering calls
Able to hear caller clearly, even in noisy environment

Cons
Earpiece is thick rubber or silicone
Mic picked up lots of ambient noise to produce static on the other end
Caller ID did not display name, only number
Pricey

The earpiece was uncomfortable from the start. Never could get it adjusted so it didn't rub on the back of my ear. After two hours my ear hurt when I took it off. Not a good sign. It looks like you might be able to bend or shape the earpiece some, but I couldn't get it to work for me. The thickness was also noticeable.

I took it out to the mall and made and received some calls. The ambient noise was picked up by the mic and produced a lot of static on the other end and made it hard to hear me. On the other hand, the earphone, while it didn't rest in the ear but slightly over the ear opening, was very clear and intelligible so that I wasn't straining to hear what the other person was saying. The ambient noise level wasn't excesssive, but I didn't bother to try it out in louder circumstances because my ear was uncomfortable and I knew I couldn't live with that. I imagine because of its design to sit above the ear canal rather than in it, it would have required a higher volume to counteract the ambient noise. The good thing is that when the headset is not in use, you can hear with that ear.

I was quite disappointed with the caller ID. The numbers are small, and when an area code is listed, it scrolls horizontally. It didn't display the name even when the caller was in my phonebook. That would've been the most useful feature for me.

The electronics worked great. Pairing and using the headset was easy. I didn't try out the claim of 5 hrs talk time, but it's probably true. The unit weight was neglible, and wouldn't have been obtrusive if the earpiece had fit me better.

Overall, nice concept, but execution is not on par with the concept. I got a Motorola HS850 to try out, and will post my impressions when I can test it out. Just off the bat, its thin earpiece doesn't hurt my ear at all, and the 8 hr talktime sounds good, plus it's cheaper than the Sony.

4.0 out of 5 stars TIP-TOP BLUETOOTH HEADSET, December 29, 2005
This review is from: Sony Ericsson HBH-660 Bluetooth Headset (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I own all 3 of these headsets, and by far, the Ericsson has been the best purchase.

Here are my thoughts on each:

Logitech:
Sound quality and range are both good. However, it's not very comfortable on my ear and also doesnt fit well, always feels like it's about to fall off. It's VERY bulky and not too asthetically pleasing either.

Jabra:
Fits very well and is the most comfortable of these three. Lacks in sounds quality and range. It also picks up a lot of wind noise when walking outside, the person on the other line will not hear you at all. Bottom line: works decently if you're in the car and the phone is within 3 feet of you.

Ericsson:
Fits comfortably on ear and has great range. Best overall of the three. Also has an external caller ID display. From reading other reviews, people have noted that only the number shows up on the display, but with a sony ericsson phone (I have the T637) the name shows up, but not the number (if already in your phonebook). Only possible con I can think of is that it's slightly pricier than the other two, but it's well worth it.
Added bonus: it has the same charger as my phone, so now I have an extra charger...so convenient.

Overall, if you're looking for a bt headset, this one is the way to go. (Especially if you have an ericsson phone.)

Hope the review helped!
